So, forgive my poor memory, but which Squatchers (if any) have bantams? DH has confessed to wanting a flock of tiny chickies. :eek:Anything special I should know about bantam care?!
I know I am late to the party here but I have (all bantams>>)Cochins, CochinXEaster egger Mix, Golden seabrights, English Game Hens, English Game henXgolden seabright mix, 1 psychotic d'uccle (could really do without him) and English game henXserama mix.
I love my Bannies, they are amazing layers, super friendly and great incubators. My Cochins are my favorite. They are in their own pen. My others live with my standard size chickens. They do great in cold or hot. I dont do anything different for any of them, feed housing.. nothing it's all the same as the standard size chickens. Only thing that sucks on the Cochins, is when It rains their feathers get all nasty and then when they want to play lap dog.... you get all nasty lol.

Not late at all, Hope! Happy to hear your experiences! Especially about the Cochins. DH and I are planning on getting some so I am thrilled that everyone I talk to adores theirs. I had a few LF Cochins before but only one was actually friendly.
Care to share a few pictures?

@CSAchook when I get home from work tomorrow I will definitely spam yall up with my babies!!! Just be prepared to have VERY...VERRY broody chickens with the Cochins. I love it because I dont have to worry with the incubator. Just throw some under the momma and forget about it. And then she takes care of them... how can you beat that?!?! I have even given her chicks I hatched out... she wasnt broody and still took them as her own. They are super sweet and loving. My girls(3 1/2 & almost 2 yo) can go in and pick then up and carry them around.. even when they were chicks. They(the chick) would run up to the girls because they knew they would get treats. Spoiled little birds. Definitely a must with them. I also really like the English game hens. Super sweet, great mommas and brood about 4 times a year... most of them in have a few that think they are cochins... we will chat more tomorrow about them for sure!!
My service is crappy right now (tired posting photos like 20x .....zippo! ) and gotta get up at 430 :sick....so I'm gonna go too sleep lol
