I need everyone to talk me out of adopting a dog!
So I have 13 year old Chihuahua and an 8 year old Australian Cattle Dog. He is great. (Except when he poops in the house) She is beast. I love her. She really can be a good dog. The problem is her energy level. It's high and I don't always have the time to run her like crazy now that I live alone. (The ex and I would both take her out, now its halved basically)
Someone shared a post with me about a cattle dog up for adoption. She is almost the same age as my girl. I know they do better in pairs in general because it's the same thunder dome mentality from both dogs. I obviously don't know how well they or my other pets would get along. (Cats are already segregated because current cattle dog won't play nice)
Its $100 to adopt her. Then the cost of adding another dog. I know I shouldn't for financial reasons alone. I've seen other dogs for adoption and had no problem passing them up. This one is sticking with me though. Its just crazy to even consider but I can't help but wonder if having a dog her speed would be good for my girl.
