I've been buying the wrong kind of chickens. They have feathery feet so I've avoided getting them though. Maybe some day I'll be brave enough for a big fluffy butt chicken w feathery feet.
I have easter eggers which are kinda like generic Ameraucanas.. 1/2 were friendly & nice, 1/2 were jerks to the other chickens & not very people friendly unless you came bearing food. They lay beautiful eggs though & were wayyyy less mean than production girls. They've lived longer too.

My feather footed have not struggled with the wet cold winters. I have always had a few in my flocks.
I was out throwing the ball for the dogs....someone in my hood has a crower. I hope they don't ruin it for all of us.

For real a rooster is no louder than a mid size barking dog. I certainly don't mind his noise.....hoping others don't mind either.
