Official Squatch Watchers

I set 54 eggs in my incubator! 🤪 I'm going to be over run with chicks!

Everyone from my last hatch that I was worried about, a new hatch, and a few americaunas thrown in. LOL

I agreed to grow out some birds for people. Then I can pick what I want and sell the others. Its going to be some work and hard to let them go once they are bigger but I think it will be worth it.
So, you decided to keep your Brinsea? (you were the one that bought the same one I just set up, right?) I think the humidity slide is a great idea. Since I haven't filled mine yet, I'm keeping a thermometer/hygrometer inside until I figure out how stable the manual humidity control and temp are.

Good morning! It is still technically morning lol!
I got a new bathroom light switch installed so that is good, bulbs wern't the issue after all the switch went bad. :)

You keeping Pinky? ;)

I went back and forth... I couldn't beat the price. Then I couldn't even get another incubator. They are sold out on Amazon and buying from Brinsea directly added even more to the price. I'm using a small thermometer- hygrometer inside. Its in one of the egg trays so 2 less eggs. Cause 54 isn't enough. LOL I have a reptile hygrometer on order. It has a probe that I'm hoping I can fit through the lid.

Who knows. I love the showgirls. There are 2 in that picture...Pinky and Brain. 😏 Brain I'm pretty sure will stay no matter what. The coloring on it is just stunning. It has vulture hocks which isn't show standard but I think are f'ing awesome looking. I'm hoping its a boy and girl then I can breed them together. Get crazy babies!

:frow Good afternoon Chicky, have a great day

For the quality/size, no you can't beat the price. Humidity is one of the things that doesn't have to be spot on. Temperature on the other hand.... is essential! I personally don't like getting my Brinsea dirty with hatching because they are so hard to clean (too many nooks and crannies and the chick dander gets all over the inside of the lid, you can tell in my EX pics below that I used it for hatching). So I use my Frankenbators for hatching. At the end of incubation, the chicks can stand a swing of a couple of degrees. Early on, they really can't take it. They are the best incubator out there until you get into cabinet incubators. I'm not quite ready for a cabinet yet. I think I would get myself into some real trouble if I got one of those. LOL

For a place to put the probe where you don't block your humidity control dial, there is a hole on the upper right hand side of the lid.

It is where the humidity pump drip goes on the EX model.

*sigh* I really need to take apart my EX and give it thorough cleaning.
Just a word of warning about cleaning cabinet bators... I have the 380, I'm 6'3" with 25" arms... I have to use a long handled brush to clean the back 6 or so inches... So how deep matters. ;) Oh, and I really hate, I mean truly hate, sticking my head in there to clean out the bottom after a hatch.

I'm 6'1" with a 6'4" reach from middle finger to middle finger when I have my arms outstretched. But I take your point. Is your bator a GQF?
