One down. Sadly, where there is one, likely to be some more. Good you got him!
Good morning Parront, have a great day... a .22 rifle with short cci minicaps makes less noise than a pellet gun...

Yes thank you... Stupid PO broke 3. One in the middle of the box. How do they do that@Molpet Did you get your eggs? The status says the box was delivered 2 hours ago.
When we lived in Seattle we trapped a 'coon right in town in our backyard. Loaded the cage in the Toyota truck and drove out to a nice wooded area where a .38 revolver shot would not be noticed. That is VERY loud, and our only gun right now. I hope that between electric poultry net and keeping all food contained we can avoid the problem! I see the 'coon tracks in the snow by the creek that runs along the back of our place, perfect coon habitat. Might have to look into a nice .22 rifle . . .Good morning Parront, have a great day... a .22 rifle with short cci minicaps makes less noise than a pellet gun...

My brother feeds the deer b/c he wants them to come around when he can hunt them. Now the feed pit is empty. There was raccoons and possum over there during the winter, but I've not caught any near the coop on my trail cam so hopefully they'll stay over in that area instead of by the coop. Putting the hardware cloth over the chicken wire has given my run more security so hopefully they see the empty feed pile & go somewhere else for food.I know people around here feed the deer. Probably raccoons like that corn, too.In the city limits here I can not shoot anything. Five javalinas in the yard the other day, ate all the buds off my roses. Roses are usually safe, I guess knocking over the neighbor's garbage cans was not enough. Those neighbors never secure their cans, and leave the mess out for days when they get knocked over. What is wrong with people????
I have e net, but I have 16 very tall trees that connects overhead to other trees. I already spent a ton on electric and to get all those trees trimmed would be a fortuneWhen we lived in Seattle we trapped a 'coon right in town in our backyard. Yes, they are smart and great at climbing trees. Our trees here spent all winter dropping branches and costing us $$$! Right now the biggest problem is the javalinas, and they are responding to electricity nicely! Each day's trouble is enough for that day.I have e net, but I have 16 very tall trees that connects overhead to other trees.
