Official Squatch Watchers

I try so very hard to ignore Cappy... did she say something about a septic system or an auto waterer....!?!?? :idunno

Welp, g'night to everyone who went to bed. Can't seem to get my head around going to bed. While moving furniture today for the damn TREE, I got caught and fell. Down on the left knee, and then on to the left hip. No bueno. I couldn't do a controlled *go limp* fall, as I was thisclose to DHs brand new 50" telly..... so I am currently in pain in weird places. Like, muscles I didn't know I have hurt.

Made the sausage stoup again. The only difference between the 2 pots was the broth (veggie broth in pot 1, chicken broth in pot 2), and we used raw kale in pot 1 and frozen spinach in pot 2. The tastes weren't terribly different, but then they were.... weird. They both were awesome though, and DH won't let me freeze any of this pot so he can eat it all!! lol
I'll post a recipe in a bit.

I'm going to clean out the *old* prefab coop so I can start moving any cockerels we have from these fresh batches of eggs and chicks. I'll also take better pics of the Nuggets so we can DEFINITELY determine that Holy IS a cock and Bean is a pullet.

Hey, so when SHOULD I separate a roo from the wimmin?!?

Easy Simple Sausage Potato Chickpea Stoup

1 Quart chicken or veggie broth
1C HWC
4-5 medium potatoes, cubed
1 whole onion, diced
1T garlic powder
1 stick butter
1 PK buffalo bleu sausages (or 1lb spicy sausage)
1-2 bunches raw kale OR spinach OR frozen (greens of choice)
1 can garbanzo beans, undrained
1/4 to 1/3rd C Greek seasoning
S&P to taste

Put broth and milk into a pot and start to simmer. Meanwhile, add 2T of the butter to a fry pan. Sauté the onions until translucent. Sprinkle with the garlic powder. Once done, pour them into the broth. Add the diced potatoes into the broth.

Cut the casings off the buffalo bleu sausages and squeeze out into the fry pan. Fry up and break into little chunks. Once cooked, add to the broth. Stir in the Greek seasoning, bring to a boil, drop to a simmer and cover. Let cook about 20 minutes. Add in the kale/spinach/greens, remainder of butter and canned garbanzo beans. Let cook until it comes back to a simmer. S&P to taste

Ladle into bowls. Top with some grated parmesan romano cheese and serve.

I made coffee.

Yea potty training the puppy.

Oh goodie she didn't make it through the night........at all.
:sick

She set to giving small barks at 3. It was after she had an oops :barnie.

Gotta work on that early warning system.

She and my boys are getting along much better. Kinda scary being little and having 2 giants looming and sniffing.

Kitty is still not amused.

Good morning friends!
HAPPY WINTER SOLSTICE!
May we all be buried in eggs very soon.

Today's the day to pull myself together. But first...
I'm gonna step up here on my little box in my nightgown and my crying sweater and be like the teacher at Sunday school, then, I am going to limit my participation today (if I can), in an attempt to pull myself up by the bootstraps to avoid hating myself later for stepping in the quicksand of holiday depression. One never knows if it's a half inch puddle or a raging river.

Please remember to be gentle to those you know and those you don't. I don't really have to tell any of the OSW's that, I know, because being nice is one of our common characteristics but nonetheless I'm throwing out a review.

The holidays, while meant to be all COMFORT AND JOY,
do not affect everyone in that way.

On the road? STAY CALM.
Be prepared to wait. PEE FIRST, but bring a drink, an emergency snack, some Tylenol and your phone charger. Wear layers.
Comfortable shoes.
Underpants that don't give you a wedgie!
Your going to be waiting in traffic. Waiting for a parking spot. Waiting in line...
This is an exercise in patience. Take the time to think good thoughts about people and rack up some karma points.

People don't need to be hated on or cussed at 4way stops (some never grasp the rules on this) or
in parking lots either.

Never shout, "OMG *******what is WRONG with you?!?"

Because Lordy, if you did that to me right now, you better pray to the DEPENDS GOD to be wearing one of their extra absorbent diapers because I'm gonna LEAP,
as in "LORDS A LEAPING" leap, in front of your vehicle with my knees within millimeters of your front bumper and I'm going to enlighten you.

I'll stand there like a crazy person and go down my list- which is long -until you either run out of gas or call the cops on me.

You are NEVER gonna get to Home Goods or Dicks or wherever because if you tip me over that edge, YOU WILL NOT, make it to your nail appointment, or be picking up your HEAVENLY HAM before they close because I will still be standing there.

Worry weighs a ton I can personally tell you.

So does loss, which is an invisible wound, and it's heavy as hell. There's all kinds of loss people may be carrying around right now. Job, house, insurance, friendship, pregnancy, marriage, partner, child....

Thanks Stacy. Don’t forget to change out of that nightgown before you leave the house!!!

Our lab has been barreling over the 2 small dogs like they don’t exist. Yesterday, she ran over (again) the old dog I took in. I thought the old dog’s leg was broken. She is putting some pressure on it and still jumping off and on the couch, but still holds it up a lot. The lab is making me so irritated by running over the littles!
