Good morning!
It looks like im not the only one to get some extra sleep today lol!
I fed the littles fed and let the big kids out, then I went back to sleep.
I was tired so it felt sooo good.
Today we are trying out the Sam's club curbside pick-up.
For some reason the app shows many, many, more things for sale and immediate pick-up than are visibly on the shelves.
It is like they're hiding things a person could buy unless they use curbside.
No idea the point of that at all.
Oh and now you have to pay via the app, no more pay when you get there.
That is convenient for some im sure, not for us though.
Good Morning! Sam's might be saving on labor by not stocking the shelves & filling curbside orders. They cut every penny they can!

Good morning everyone.

It has been a long long time since they got to run the yard. They definitely needed it.
The ducks seem to like having chicken neighbors. While I was building the run divider and chickens were kept in the coop the ducks hung out by the pop door. Now they spend quite a bit of time right up against the dividing fence. Yesterday they spent over an hour chatting at the chickens as they wandered the yard.

Hawks.....they are relentless. They are one reason we roofed the run with solid roofing. They would hang out on the power pole staring at the birds causing panic. They are still here....they just cannot as easily scare my birds.
They swoop past the pen the Hollands are in, and all the chick's heads go up, and they freeze. Then run for the dog kennel shelters! That is with a solid roof they can't see through. Nesting season is over, now they are learning to hunt, even worse!

Good morning everyone,

Hawk was back this morning perched on top of the small run trying to get down between the snow fencing and the run. When I was first typing this my mom came to get the boys and told me we had a trapped raptor. He had jumped down between the pen and the fencing and was stuck while we were trying to figure out what to do, he hopped up and was able to get away.
I think you can use scare tactics on hawks. Bottle rockets or fire crackers. If all else fails you can get a permit to have them dispatched. Or SSS but you didn't hear that from me.🤫
We have neighbors who have direct view into our backyard who are sticklers about hunting law. I’m not sure how’d they’d respond to seeing a dead hawk.
Firecrackers should work, or you could invest in a predator deterrent company or animal. If you go for an animal, one that is easily trained would be best. Too bad you can't borrow Todd.
We’d like to get a LSG dog. That might just be on the list for next year. We’d have to get a GPS enabled wireless collar for the dog though. We don’t have money for real fencing.

I’m thinking bottle rockets might not be a bad idea.

:frow Good morning Rae, have a great day. Your hawk is way too bold, I'm guessing she has babies in the nest.
