I got a shot of both my suspected boys, you can see one of the girls in the back lots of feathers and getting a tail.
Puddin has none of that yet.
Jerry is getting feathers and a decent comb.
Both stayed firmly wedged up my butt, very clingy.

Super duper adorable!!

My big girls enjoyed a full day running the yard. It has been a looooong time since they got to do that. The corn, cukes and beans are tall enough to give good cover in a pinch.

Oh I bet they loved that!
Kept the kids out about four hours let them use up some energy lol. :)

And the saga continues. We are going to have to do some hawk proofing tomorrow. I don’t think the hawk can easily get into the pens, but it is scaring the crap out of my chicks.

I think you can use scare tactics on hawks. Bottle rockets or fire crackers. If all else fails you can get a permit to have them dispatched. Or SSS but you didn't hear that from me.🤫

Good morning everyone.

It has been a long long time since they got to run the yard. They definitely needed it.
The ducks seem to like having chicken neighbors. While I was building the run divider and chickens were kept in the coop the ducks hung out by the pop door. Now they spend quite a bit of time right up against the dividing fence. Yesterday they spent over an hour chatting at the chickens as they wandered the yard.

Hawks.....they are relentless. They are one reason we roofed the run with solid roofing. They would hang out on the power pole staring at the birds causing panic. They are still here....they just cannot as easily scare my birds.
