I think I missed part of your answer on the other thread or this one is a little different. So, I can feed them the same thing, only different. Hmm, I’m going to have to do some thinking on hiw this will work out. Don’t get me wrong, I completely understand what you’re saying. That was my conundrum in the first place. Their feed is essentially the same, just a bit different, enough to cause issues. I only have 6 of each (so far, I have little eggs in the incubator :love ) so that’s why I’m balking at buying a bag just for the little ones.
I feed my chickens and turkeys 28%

Well hubs crapped on my plan for the chicken run. He wants it more secure....anchored in the ground.
I was going to do a free standing run attached to the coop. Nope....now I have to go buy 4x4's......and prebuilding my walls is a brain pain.

It "should" be simple but I have been given the MAX height of 6'. I hate when restrictions are put on my projects.

@Fishychix This would be my advice too.
Surviving is not thriving so as much as it's a pain in the butt that game bird feed really is the right feed.
We ended up using landscape timbers instead of 4x4 and as for anchoring it, we used 10” galvanized nails. The timbers were a third of the price of the 4x4’s. Here’s a closeup. They are both sides of the same post with the one picture showing how he joined the two timbers. The silver dot is that 10” nail.

I would rather they thrive vs survive. Pinchy vs blinky comes to mind.(simpsons reference ;) Lol! No thanks!
How long will the feed last before going rancid though? It’s stored in a closed tub in the garage with the rabbit feed.

I would do that but where it is going has had a well loosened garden for a decade.....not much to drive a spike into anymore.

I know he means well.....after all this will be housing my precious tiny Bitty, Smudge and Red. He doesn't want a wind to rip it apart. We get some hum dingers here with 70-80 mph gusts in October and November. Bitty being safe is the whole reason for the project.

Hold up I didn't know you were doing Bitty's house.
Block walls and a moat at the very least for her, she's a dang treasure. :D

Hello everybody,

We left home at 6am this morning so that we could make a 2:30pm appointment to see DH’s Grandmother on our way to a wedding, which is tomorrow. We only got to visit with her for 30 min and had a wall of plexiglass between us but it was better than nothing. This is only the 2nd visit she has gotten since we visited her in March. It was only an hour or so out of the way so we made the effort to visit.

At the hotel now relaxing (as much as we can with a 4 and a 1 year old).

How are you going to secure it into the ground then? Curious. I guess I should be grateful my ground is as hard as concrete!
This is where I faltered and called a handyman friend for help. He designed it with plenty of my input, drew up the plans, and gave me a shopping list. Sweet! Hubs actually helped. I almost fell over. :lau
It’s all painted and already looks less of an eyesore. Can’t find the stapler now 🤬

Ugh and lol, the kids found a mouse nest in the shed trash.
99% of the time they're sunshine and roses to each other, let mice be on the menu instant thunder dome.
Makes me want to fire the cat give her job to them lol.
She wont mouse anymore, fancy feast turned her into a highbrow snob.
:lau
My little guy, 15 yr old maine coon, accidentally caught a mouse once and was very upset over it. He started crying and kept his paws over it until we got there and just looked at us like he was the worst cat ever. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, poor guy! He was used to having hamsters and would play with them. I swear he thought this was one of our hamsters and he thought he was in trouble.
Now, our “new” girls who are now 5 yrs old, hunted an entire mouse family that same winter without so much as a second thought. Needless to say, we did not let them near the hamster. LOL!
I have to add his picture :)
He’s upside down in the first one and “helping” sort socks in the second one.
