How are you going to secure it into the ground then? Curious. I guess I should be grateful my ground is as hard as concrete!
This is where I faltered and called a handyman friend for help. He designed it with plenty of my input, drew up the plans, and gave me a shopping list. Sweet! Hubs actually helped. I almost fell over. :lau
It’s all painted and already looks less of an eyesore. Can’t find the stapler now 🤬

Well since hubs set a height limit and I have loose soil there I will be digging 3' deep holes to drop then cement the posts into. Yup ain't gonna like that one bit I ain't.

Hold up I didn't know you were doing Bitty's house.
Block walls and a moat at the very least for her, she's a dang treasure. :D

Yes my sweet tiny Bitty.
I looked and looked for cold tolerant alligator for the moat.....none....not a single one to be found.
Looks like we will have to go with aquatic attack tigers....

Aww, he's a cutie with a conscience lol!
My old girl pretty much did a mic drop when she hit sixteen.
She left her rodent of resignation on my pillow, while I slept.
She just mauled it so it could whisper squeak in my ear at 4 am..
Im impressed though, she quits much like her owner safety orange trainwreck style.:)
:lau
My little guy, 15 yr old maine coon, accidentally caught a mouse once and was very upset over it. He started crying and kept his paws over it until we got there and just looked at us like he was the worst cat ever. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, poor guy! He was used to having hamsters and would play with them. I swear he thought this was one of our hamsters and he thought he was in trouble.
Now, our “new” girls who are now 5 yrs old, hunted an entire mouse family that same winter without so much as a second thought. Needless to say, we did not let them near the hamster. LOL!
I have to add his picture :)
He’s upside down in the first one and “helping” sort socks in the second one.

Henny, he that sets the limit makes the modifications. ;)

1) thankfully mine have never done that. I couldn’t even imagine my reaction to that. 🤮
2) totally!

Is he helping at all?! Why the height restriction? Especially since you’re the one building it.

Generally I do the construction around here. He works insane hours so I try to let him rest on his days off....few and far between that they are.
I am sure if I ask he will help.

The height restriction is to keep it out of sight of the neighbor. Catch 22......the house is uphill from where the coop is going. If I can see in their yard from my windows then they can see in ours.

Oh I am not looking forward to what iv'e got to do, not one bit.
Iv'e got to scold that old neighbor fella about keeping his fat goats off my fence.
I suspected they were squishing it but today I saw it happen.
I don't dislike goats or anything but they are damaging a welded wire fence that I sort of need unsquished.
Im respectful as a mofo to him, he's late 70's ,a Navy veteran and my 'dad's freind from way back.
He saw my fence last time his billy shanghaied my yard, watched his goat "climb" over....zero offers to help fix it
a tad tacky but whatevs he gets a peepaw pass that day.
It was later discovered a small tree took out his hot wire allowing 200 lbs of pee stank to run free soooo I offer him tree/hotwire help he refused, said his son in law would get it.
Fast forward to today not a stinking thing has changed.
He does not feed them, forage only and my place is a jam up salad bar.
If he continues to coot around and do nothing I will have to either forcibly fix his fence or become a goat rustler.

Oh I had it coming, tried to adopt a transition kitten since she was hitting the senior years.
Nope, had to send the child back.
Pillow statement gifts, biting butt overhang hard if she caught a helpless soul on the can.
Anxiety drooling from both ends.
Kitten denied lol. :lau

I WAS going to offer to send you a tiger for a few days......might not be a good idea if it makes kitty mad enough to bite bums.
