I'd say either a small drip from filling the tank like stated above. It it was a leak starting it would not have dried.
Also makes sense.
I did buy some of that flexseal stuff and will be spraying my small tanks with it. I’m setting them up in my office so I’m even more nervous about leaks. At least my office used to be a kitchen! Lol! You can’t really tell. They did a good job. But, I know what’s under the carpet tiles and that makes me feel better.

I do not, ive never even set eyes on him.
Im really considering just fixing his myself.
Hopefully I dont make him mad something has to be done though.
Do you know his son in law? I’m thinking since he expected the guy to help then maybe you can talk to him and see what’s going on. Or just fix the fence in the night. Lol!

Good morning folks :frow

:frow Good morning Chicky, have a great day...

Fishy, I too would recommend the game bird with oyster shell on the side. 16% for layers is a minimum number for maximum production.

Are you not allowed to have a coop?
How’s the boss’s wife doing?
Ours is 8’ high. I really don’t remember how that happened, but I did sign off on it. I’m sure he gave me a good reason at the time. It’s just now we still need to put up the wire. That should be fun :(

I am allowed to keep "as many as can be properly housed and cared for without creating a health hazard or nuisance" according to codes.
This will be a 4th structure housing birds here. Hubs worries someone will complain and the city will make me get rid of the birds. I see his point.

The bosses wife is not good at all. While she said she wanted company she never answered my calls so
My hubs gets the job of transporting her and the boss both to their many many doctor appointments. Apparently she has fallen numerous times now. A lot have been basically sliding out of the kitchen chair and ending up under the table. They have been calling a neighbor to help with that now.

My big coop is about 8-9' at the peak. The height is needed for roof slope and head room.

Hanging wire is a pain. I use my air stapler to tack it in place then use 1x2 or 1x3 boards screwed on top of that wire to secure it firmly and keep staples from backing out over time.

Good morning Bob and Sue. :frow Have a fantastic day.

We are buried in smoke this morning from the Cameron Peak fire. There is active ash falling. It is not good...not good at all. I cannot imagine how bad it is up on the mountain if this much is making it down here.

Please send extended gentle rain, no lightening or wind.

Wow. I thought I understood chicken feed but it seems I simply bought the marketing. My furry pets are so much “easier” to buy for - quality ingredients, no worries about specific levels of anything. Except the bunnies, they do have protein and fiber requirements.
Alright, give me the inside scoop of what I need to know about feed. Or hook me up with resources to study. Please:)
I get the general consensus being that my original question about using flock feed and worrying about the quail seems to be maybe a bit backward? Chickens can have gamebird feed without issues?
I have a 50# bag of oyster shell already :)
I do want everyone to be healthy and thriving, if I can’t trim down feeds it’s not the end of the world.

Aw man, I’m glad I have a restriction now. Lol! I would have gone with at least a dozen.
Would they make you get rid of them without an inspection? If they see how well taken care of they are, I’m sure you would likely be given a pass.

I’m trying to figure out what size wire to put on the roof. Any suggestions?
“Pain” is being very literal. I usually end up looking like I’ve been attacked by something. :lau

I’m sorry. You did your best, but ... I don’t know. Some situations are just weird.

I would send rain, but we don’t have any to share. :(

:frow Good morning Fishy, have a great day. I've attached a starter read. I have Jeff's book and his goto guide as well. Feed is formulated with three main considerations: 1) How to make it as inexpensive as possible; 2) How to get maximum productions from the birds; 3) How to compensate for the treats we give. There's another metric out there that likely doesn't apply to your situation nor to mine. Layer chickens on fresh pasture require 4 1/2 oz of feed per day per bird. This metric again focuses on cost vs production, but also takes into account feed waste. It has an added benefit for those who don't feed pellets. Chickens will cherry pick if given the chance with grain based feeds. They like the candy better than the meat and potatoes. If you limit their feed, they'll eat it all. Some who have been fed excess grain based feed have developed fatty liver disease, because of the cherry picking. That's not possible with a pelleted feed.

Over the years I have built, didn't like, and removed several coops. Yeah they can say they have had complaints and the birds would have to go.
I am a real turd though and would choose to make working on Harleys my passion. In the driveway....every day....8 am to 10 pm.
