My neighbors started by feeding the deer and then thought the raccoons were cute. Neighbor closest had them get in her eves and hired someone to fix. Neighbor next to me had them get under his porch and into the house walls. Hired someone, $150 each raccoon and repairs. Right now he has a small ground hog under the porch that tore up the green hardware cloth.

Oh wow. You've been lucky then. Ours just eat trash. I was trapping them, but they're so hard to take care of when we do get them. I'm just hoping they stay out in the woods now.

apryl, I had a member on here tell me that you get exlax (chocolate), and put it right by where you think the skunk is living. It will eat the exlax and mess in it's living area, then move out. They don't like to live in their own mess.

With my luck one of my chickens would find it and eat it. I heard mothballs keep them away, but I could be remembering wrong. I also worry about using those too b/c chickens eat first, ask questions later.

Right? Like everything they find on the ground is a treat just for them.

Actually last century, they had babies in the attic and kept tearing up the propane lines on the grill. I put a radio in the attic and fixed the soffit when she left with the babies. Then she came in through the attic ventilation. Radio again and put hardware cloth over the vent. I gave up on the BBQ grill.
Then she was in my shed with babies in a bucket of chain in a bulap bag.

I just left her alone.


Until I started loosing poults.

They're so cute, if only they didn't kill birds. I never minded them until I saw they were trying to get into my run. I invested in hardware cloth after that, but I def need to replace things this year. The cover of the run is rusted and IDK how much longer it's going to last. The tarp over the back run got torn up from all of the wind we had the past month or so.
