Happy Fuzzy Sunday people! We just returned from TSC and Kroger. Got chickens ready for a wet week, since it's supposed to rain tonight, tomorrow and wed/thur/fri SUPPOSEDLY.

Tiny and Thirteen don't seem to be doing very well. They both act like they're at deaths door one minute, and then are walking around, chirping their heads off the next. Hell, this is what DH did last night cause he though Tiny was gonna die and wanted to make her comfy:



So, giving them water with NutraDrench in it with a syringe (I got carded at TSC for the syringes!!!) and about to build a mini brooder for them... I think they're getting overheated in the incubator.

I think i will go shopping tomorrow. Just have to figure out where i want to go. Need more chicken feed soon.

DH is always up my butt when we go to TSC and we get more than 1 bag of feed. I'm like Dude, what would happen if we got stormed in?!?

Morning squatchers.
Woke up at 5 and couldn't get back too sleep. My face was burning even to my own hand. I was woken up just now because all of a sudden I felt really hot and was sweating. Hopefully that means the fever broke.

for Ruby.... man is stinks being sick. I hope your fever did break!

I know. 11 hens. I am just so sad for them. It is one thing when it is out of your control, but to know their death was at your hands (they didn’t know and I didn’t know) will bring an extra heavy heart. There will be countless chickens saved because of this incident, including mine.

I got to get busy. I took down my tress, but they everything is in the foyer to be taken upstairs. I took the day off to watch Hallmark, play Words with Friends and stalk BYC. I got some things done, but not overly productive.

I can't find the thread and there were a LOT of pages when I had checked it so, what exactly was the cause of death??

This is were Suzi and I have both gotten birds. Great place. Not sure if she ships eggs or if you’re interested in driving but I thought I’d share.

Both my girls are taller than me. It's great bc they can reach high up stuff and clothes shopping is a bit easier..


And the grand opening usually has good deals and a % off sale.

My tiny human is diseased again.. Blisters on the back of get throat. Going to let the chickens out.. Apparently I dropped my house keys in there yesterday. Dug around, but couldn't find them... Yay for warmer weather though!

Thanks for the answer... and thanks... I really hope they make it too. DH keeps saying they're gonna end up being house chickens and I was like TATER NO!!!

PS. DH is really turning into a Crazy Chicken Lady himself. I guess they really grew on him... ha!!!

We need to go to TSC tomorrow. It is in the next small town over so when we make a trip we buy ALL THE THINGS. Our feed comes from a local mill but everything else is from TSC. So we are talking full on, crazy chicken lady style with the giant overloaded cart. It is great

She ate about a tablespoon of egg, and nibbling on some more right now. I made eggs, oats and applesauce for the others. You have to be quick when there is an Orpington around. I imagine she eats like a teenage boy.

Well, shouldn't the bucket be filled with poopsicles? So there shouldn't be that much poop on them, right?

Nope. Probably cleaner than if they had been on the floor!

I posted on the Emergency page. I noticed she kept stretching her neck and opening her beak, repeatedly. She did eat some grit. Other than a crop massage, I am at a loss.

I read that means adjusting their crop... Does it mean anything else? Maybe try mash?

I always get 2 bags to fill the bin, but I only go when it's almost empty (1 week of feed left), but I only have 14 birds so 2 bags last a little while.
