If he kept doing that, he would have eventually been run over because we lived on a busy road. There was also other behavior we couldn't stop (humping everyone).

If you aren't going to breed them, it is better all around.

I use a brooder lamp for Dylan the African Grey every day. It has an 80 watt UV light that puts out a little heat and adds Vitamin D to the indoor bird life. It is securly attached, and not very hot. A low wattage heat lamp can do a lot to improve air circulation and health. There are some that do not emit light that are for reptiles, that I would use if I thought it would help.

It's true you don't need one if the ventilation is good but this is just an opinion but if you are having problems with frostbite then you might want to until you can fix the problem. Just a opinion someone can correct me if I'm wrong
