Just a little bit of the bird was frozen to the barrel. He wasn't going anywhere though that little bit was the fuzzy butt feathers. Tried not to get him too wet poor fella. Glad i saw him was one of my cardinal boys.
Wait WHAT?? The bird was froze to the barrel??
 :th

Currently 17*, feels like 4*.
I geared up and went out to the coop. The whole taterin thing tatering shifted! Old building that hasn’t really been maintained. Built on a hill so raised off the ground. I hope the whole tater thing doesn’t fall down. :th

On the broody front... I gave her an all over inspection and found she had pulled way more feathers out then I thought. I put her down and she pancaked. So as I was working I kept shooing her around. I’m not getting eggs at this point from ANYONE so I removed the nest boxes. After that she paced around and kept going to where the boxes were whining a little. I stayed out there watching till my toes hurt and that’s all she kept doing. Walk around, make sad cluck, peck another girl in frustration. I’m hoping this works and quickly. How will I know she’s broken?

The boys are getting better about being man handled. I rubbed them down with coconut oil. Tried to rub it in and massage their combs at the base. Maybe improve blood flow a little.

If they have frostbite massage can damage tissues, fyi.

Was there a specific reason for the testing, like hives or something? I would be interested in something like that with my arthritis and other things.
I was going to the chiropractor and mentioned I was getting old and waking up with all my joints hurting.. I was thinking arthritis... she said that and my nasal congestion sounded like a food intolerance .. my insurance paid for the blood work testing.. so I figured what the tater...

:woot on saving the little guy!

FNF, it is just the frosted parts that you need be cautious of. If he didn't start bleeding then all is OK.

Happy Hump Day all!

Me and my fam are doing this thing called the whole thirty, where we take grains, legumes, dairy, and sugar out of our diet for 30 days and reintroduce the one at a time at the end to see which of them have negative effects. However, this means no honey in my tea. *sob*

I did the AIP Protocol... pretty much the same thing I believe.

I was tested for food Allergies and they came up with 27 I cut out and reintroduced 1 a week.. I thought it was a bunch of taters but did it anyway... ummm when I reintroduce black pepper and legumes I was fine.. but when I did wheat I was waking up again w/every joint in my body hurting... cows milk and I was so congested again... I didn't try anything else after the wheat and milk.. yet anyway

Sensitive to wheat, casein and nightshades (like maters).

The newly hatched BEANS flock is at 11. Hatched 12 eggs but the taterholes pecked one to death and pecked a hole into a pipping egg, and that egg quit. 2 eggs left in the brooder, but we're gonna candle them tonight to see if there's any movement. If not, then we'll be the 11 Beanies.

It's not too windy for the cold today... and seems partly sunny... but I have no motivation at all. Ugh.
