Official Squatch Watchers

I got half the pieces cut for the cold frame. Had to get a drink. Hubby is sawing away at the pine trees, and the electric saw keeps tripping the breaker. Must be overheating, poor thing. He already cleared all the deadfall trees off his trails!

:hugs I am feeling the love, Henny! :D:D

So I just candled my WVDC eggs!!! They are going STRONG (especially the BC's, they are reeeeaaallllyyyy active, they want out!) I have 7/8 definites in the 'bator, and 6/7 definites under Olive. So that is at least 13 little peepers!

WVDC, did your Seramas hatch before your BC's? I can't remember if you said what day they hatched (need more :caf).

This is *so cool*. Hatching has really been therapeutic for me. It sounds stupid, but it has really helped with my depression and given me something to look forward to every day. It's probably no coincidence that when I have lost loved ones, the things that have helped me get through it are new life....gardening and chick incubating....

Seeing those dark little swimming, dancing bumps in a candled egg is truly amazing. It's incredible to watch the process from Day 3 spiders, to now. I can't believe baby chicks are going to come out of there soon. It is half done, already. :love

:ya :love
This hatch for me, I gave the serama eggs to the broody, so I don't know exactly when they hatched, but late day 19, early 20. My OEGBs hatched around the same time in the Bator, the frizzle bc chick was next. The full breed cochins next, the chocolate crosses are bringing up the rear. :D

Hello everyone!

DH, the Milk Drinker and I are on our way to pick up some chickens from @WVduckchick!

So excited. The Milk Drinker is sleeping. Hopefully he sleeps until we arrive.

:wee

I've had my chooks out in the backyard today. :) My Half-Derp, Blueberry, is a bully. She keeps trying to fight with Luna, one of my AC's. So I picked her up and sat her on my lap, and she gave me the Crazy Eyes look (like I don't know if she's about to peck my eyes out or what) and she *flew up on my head*. She never did that before, lol!

Pardon the uncombed hair and lack of makeup look! Didn't realize it was gonna be a photo op kinda day, lol.

Edited to fix bad typing.

So what if the 'bator eggs hatch a day before the BC eggs? Will that mess things up? Should I just slip the 2 BC bator eggs under my broody as the time gets closer, so it won't be a staggered hatch?

Hahahaha.....I know, right? It hurt a little, she has these gigantic feet/claws that were digging into my head! I was yelling at my DH "Get the camera, Blueberry is on my head" lol.

There's no doubt about it. Derps--or even Half Derps--are special. :)

What is under the broody now? They should hatch within 12 or so hours of each other, so no harm in leaving them the way they are now. I quickly pull hatched chicks when I have a break in the action.

Need more baby pictures, you! <shameless begging>

:D will do soon. Rae should be here in a few minutes. I took a quick coffee break.

I have 2 BC eggs and the 5 mixed SS and Ser eggs. OK, I'll leave the bator ones in the bator then, thanks!

Oooh, you guys have fun! So cool to meet your BYC friends! I wish you guys lived closer to NJ...
