Official Squatch Watchers

I'M BAAACK.... or whatever............

Nothing like coming home feeling like a slug...... you women know what I'm talkin about!

Candled our derps last night and they all look terrific, so very happy with that.

DH herded the 5 Peep flock into the CP coop last night, cause they were all standing in the run, bunched up in the corner that faced their old coop, and just staring at the coop longingly cause they couldn't get to it. Hilarious yet heartbreaking at the same time.

I am totally fascinated by this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/sab-cameras.1225262/

Good to know your chickie is gonna be OK Rae. We found one of the peeps walking around on stumps and have NO idea why! No one got frost bite, even in their combs or waddles... NONE of the chickies. And it isn't anything we noticed like a birth defect... so I am completely confused. It isn't in any pain, no one picks on it (in fact it's kind of a bully) and it's interacting with the main flock just fine. So.... gonna just leave her be.
how old is stumpy?

You're killing me! :love

My quail eggs shipped today, so hopefully I'll have chickies cranking by the end of the week.

That's some quick hatching, just a week?! :D
Quail are fun. You hatched them before, right?

Cranking. Not peeping. :plbb I wish they'd hatch that fast!

Yes, I hatched them last fall for someone else, and I had cots three years ago. Dumb birds but wicked cute.

Oh, Oh, Banty...did you batch pigeons?
My hubby went to some kind of home show, there was a booth set up by some racing pigeon group. They had eggs for sale!! Dummy didn't buy me any, but he did get their card. I'm considering calling them. :pop

I've never hatched/had pigeons, but I have been quite tempted. Maybe once the finances recover a tad from the new coop... :caf

Yes, call them!

Coturnix. I almost went for buttons but I heard some kinda scary stuff about them so I figured I'd stick with the known rather than the unknown.
Good choice. Plus coturnix are big enough so you can eat your extra roos. You should see how big the James Marie Coturnix eggs are!
