Official Squatch Watchers

Question for those of you that free range: at what age do you let your chicks start exploring the big wide world. I can tell momma hen would like to go out but I am being paranoid. Thoughts?
I usually wait 3 days to 1 week, but that is usually inside the electric poultry netting paddock where the rest of the flock is.

I saw something where they say to freeze veggies in blocks of ice, has anyone tried that

@apryl29 I freeze an empty cantaloupe half with the goop and other random goodies put back inside. I top it off with water and stir it around a bit to mix everything up. Most of the time they wait till it melts! I don’t think it hurts to peck the frozen stuff but it’s too much work for my lazy spoiled kids. I made yogurt smoothies for in the freezer too. The tops of strawberries with some blueberries in the blender with yogurt. Froze in an ice cube tray. They loved it.

I found boxes of frozen veggies in the bottom of the freezer that expired 4-5 yrs earlier
put them out on the hottest day last year and they waited until it melted.

if the area is enclosed I let her decide
had some that hatch beginning of july .. she dumped them at 4 weeks.. :barnieat a barn as far away from the coop as she could get when she was free ranging... they still could get through the 2x4 fencing in bad spots... they were running free and wild for a couple of weeks.. until the dog saw a coyote about 20' from them.... I fixed the fence real quick

:barnie

Out weed eating with my 20 year old corded weeder and the dang handle broke.

Surprise the part is obsolete. :lau

So I set about pulling up ineffective weed barrier. While rolling it up with what little mulch was still on it I dump 8 freaking garter snakes on my feet! Ok not fun so done with that!

I check the mail and my insurance company is sending an inspector to see if they can even renew my also 20 year old policy. WTT, I have paid and paid my dues with never a claim!

Yeah I am over today. I think I will take a shower and eat some ice cream.

The medical establishment now says above 120/80 is high.

Cap the medical establishment we grew up with is different today. Back then they were interested in fixing human problems, today they all want to sell something and pad their wallet. Doctors of old were gracious folk... Doctors of new are thieves.

ETA: The whole medical establishment no longer cares about patient health, but it's more important to sell something and make money off all patients. Whether they need it or not, after all it wont hurt them in the long run.

I really want to curse my head off right now...

While trying on a new back brace, in prep for tomorrows big day.... somehow I threw my back out.... JMJ and the damn 12 guys following... WHY?!?

Already took some muscle relaxers, on a heating pad anf going to sleep VERY soon.

And, tossing this out to the group since RJ doesn't wanna answer..... what do you all think about this? https://westky.craigslist.org/grd/6577651593.html

Already have the STDH convinced we have 3 in the bathtub..... wanted to test out the *ask for forgiveness* theory before actually doing anything... I'd hate to see him REALLY ticked off from me doing that....lolol

Exactly! They benefit from having as many people on as many daily prescriptions as they can shove down your throat. I don't even take pain killers any more unless it is REALLY necessary (last time was when I was recovering from my c-section).

I liked cause of the turkeys not cause your back is all tatered up.

I have heard that they (royal palm turkeys) tend toward short lives. Shorter than the heritage but way longer then the broad breasted Thanksgiving types.

I think the royal palm are gorgeous birds.

After finding 2 turkeys still in our freezer that we bought in November of 2016, I came to the conclusion that, along with the ducks, turkeys would be more along the lines of eggs and pets, not actual food. If you look at my local CL (west KY and Clarksville TN), you'll see that we have NOTHING here...... which could be why turkeys would go 3/$25 here...... can't get turkeys through TSC (definitely) or Rural King (as far as I know).....
