I think I’ll do chores in the dark from now on.
87* (feels like 92*) 58% humidity.:th

:hugs

There *should* be cooler temps on the way.

Your humidity is very icky to me. :sick

We are usually in the single digits or teens for humidity.
That's where hot is just baking but not steaming you. :p

It’s never good when you’re scrubbing waterers in the shade and spray yourself with the hose to cool off.

Well, partial success for the day. Got a steel security door installed so we can have the front door open and still keep all the animals in and have the place secure. Unfortunately, I realized after the first one way screw was put in, that if I rotated it 180 degrees, it would open the direction I wanted it to, and at that point it was too late to change it. DH is gonna have a field day telling my what I did wrong, which I'm not really in the mood for, as I'm already irritated with myself for the mistake. It doesn't help that our house had settled, so the door doesn't match up perfectly with the door frame, but this is a 36 yr old house, so not everything is gonna be 90 degree corners and 100% level anymore.

Tomorrow I shall attempt to get the screws out with the tool for the screws that came with the door, and of that works, I'll flip the door the right way.

@Anansi Want to talk about door installation disaster-- I wanted a screen door for the man door on my coop. It want originally a coop so has poor ventilation and NO windows. I rent so can't go cutting holes in the building.
I go to HD and get a cheep already screened unfinished wood door. I bring it home and it doesn't fit. Because it's about a foot to tall! LOL So I end up cutting it down, reinstalling the screen, putting reinforments on the back and try to hang it again. The opening is so crooked the door isn't hung close to straight. It has to open in because the other door opens out, and I don't think the screen door would go the other way anyway.
There are so many gaps around the door it's not funny. But, they got their screen door!

there are tools to remove the one way screws https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-O...ler-Set-with-Sleeve-3-Piece-AR2016G/205193160

I have always lived in old houses and never had one that was square..... one my great grandfather built from left overs of the sawmill he had.. they say bragged that he built the house without a square... yep I believe he was telling the truth:lau

The door is level, the house isn't any more. I had to use shims you make sure it closed properly, and DH called me dangerous because he doesn't like the way I did it, which was according to directions that were on their installation video. The written instructions didn't say to much other than put this piece on first, then this and this. The video was more informative. If the thing had been installed when the place was built, or when we first moved in, it would have fit better, but it would be a pain in the tater to deal with now, as far as opening and closing it.

Basically, yeah DH may have done a better job, but he wouldn't have wanted to do it anyhow. It's not perfect, and our house won't let it be perfect, but at least I'm capable of doing it. Besides, he would have goofed up somehow and it still wouldn't be perfect.
