Morning everyone.

All is well here. My garden is doing well. It looks like the 4th replant on beans and pickling cucumbers will make it!


There are oodles and gads of sprouted beans now.

Puppies are happy and playful.

I built a bed frame to hold a crib mattress for my old arthritic dog. To tall of course so I will cut 3" off the legs for him.

We should only hit 80° today! It is a welcome change from 100+.

I hope everyone gets to have a good day.

Even my 3rd replanting is getting chewed up, bean plants. I got a fence, 3 hot wires, and the raised beds have 2 foot chicken wire stapled on all the way around. Must be moles or slugs, idk i am just plain sick of it!

you can put out shallow dishes (I use cn catfood cans) with stale beer about 1/3 .. they get drunk and drown

My issues were cutworms and bunnies. The cutworms being the worst.

Earwigs will need controlled to protect the corn and cabbages.

I read about using short tubs like from sour cream. It calls for a bit of water, soy sauce and veggie oil. Drill holes just under the lid big enough for them to crawl in and bury the tub up to the holes. The oil is to be smeared on the inside of the tub walls to prevent climb out.
Will it work? We shall see.

I've been *off* my supplements for a while, so I think that's contributing to how I've been feeling lately. I take fish oil and B vitamins, St Johns Wort and 5htp, plus a few others. No worries, I'm not depressed..... trust me, I KNOW what depression feels like and this isn't it....... I just am a little *off*...

Good morning Bobert Jehosaphat! Glad you're going to be able to visit more often in a week or so.

Good morning all the other squatchers. I wish I could get SOMETHING growing around here, other than the twig *trees* we received from the Arbor Day foundation. 9 out of 12 are actually coming along quite nicely! I'll take some pictures soon.

Our strawberry plants in our raised bed are looking beautiful and lively, but I doubt they'll be giving fruit this season. The SURPRISE strawberry plants we planted last year in the front of the house, that had come back and WAS giving off fruit... well... the boy who cuts our grass came around and weed whacked them into oblivion....

PIC is fine. He turned 9 on Monday, and he needs to quit growing! And, there's a good chance we're gonna have to change his room again. Although he totally LOVES the desk under the loft bed/desk combo, he doesn't seem to like the bed part. I think a HUGE part of that is because none of the animals come in a sleep with him anymore. Our one cat, Ocean, goes in and sleeps up there... but not with him at night.... so he's lonely. I think we're gonna have to figure out something else...... especially with getting 2 puppies soon.....

STDH is fine. Counting down his last WORKING days in the Army (28 I believe), even though his FINAL day is 30 November. Him and the PIC are getting super excited about getting sibling puppies. Of course, I have been doing all the legwork with that one..... and that's because I'm not all puppy crazy like these two idjits are. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE puppies... I just don't wanna raise any more!!

Chickens are fine. One of their waterers handle had broken, so they were down to 1. We prepped a new waterer, but used nipples in the sides instead of the bottom. I hung it up and just waited. Took them all of half a day to figure out how it worked.

Ducks are fine. I guess we're planning on ordering some silver and/or blue and/or black Swedish babies once we get their duck pond into place.

Looking at painting our bathrooms for the month of July. I want an ocean-y sea green.... the *main * (read: BOYS) bathroom will probably be painted the same color as PICs room since they both like blue.

PIC wants to dye his hair blue, so gotta first bleach it blonde. I will DEFINITELY be tracking this with photos and will share!!

Just the list of all that upcoming stuff makes be feel tired.
