Oh it is cute out there, Cookie is Negan's clone same everything. Negan is always first to come out when I do anything always the same quick little trot, head down tiny little clucks. Now iv'e got Cookie doing exactly the same just in miniature. Cookie is still going to be much fatter though, Lulu gave him her Alfred Hitchcock shape.:)
:gigAhhhhh chicky :loveyou have such a way with chicken descriptions!
I love it. :lau:celebrate

Cappy your brain works like mine.

maybe give her a tums every day for a week.
Seriously.
I could be habit by now but she also might need the calcium.

This was a first for Sable. It's just a tiny spot too. I think it was because I overslept and she needed to pee.
Delilah chewed a wall in the basement and I totally know why. I had an appointment early in the day. I should have crated her that day.

Got all the boards cut and painted for the first chicken coop wall. I need to find a paint tray and roller for painting the plywood. It is going to be terrific to get this coop built. Not sure yet if i am dividing it in half or thirds yet. I need coops for Tolbunt Polish and my Crested Cream Legbars, as well as the young guineas. But i may just build a coop near the hoop coop where the other guineas are.

Pbm, I hope Lafayette pulls through. Is he drinking plenty of water? The lack of poo makes me think he might be dehydrated, which would slow down his system, make him lethargic and not wanting to do anything. The lack of fluids could also cause him to have problems with passing poop because and build up toxins since they pass their pee at the same time.

Nope, he is drinking well.

His poo is actually GREEN MUCOUSY DIARRHEA. It's nasty. I noticed the past few days that there's been green diarrhea-y poop in the run, but I wasn't able to catch him in the act. I just did, and he's the culprit.

I've been researching causes of green diarrhea. Haven't seen any worms at all in the poops....

You do not have to see worms for them to be there. Usually you do not see them.

Any vet can run a float test on the poo. Just tell them it is cat poo if they say they do not work with poultry.

Poo is poo and they will be looking for the eggs from the worms--You have to use a microscope to see them

I know, and thank you. :) That was my next course of action. I got back from my job interview and he's acting more peppy than I've seen him. Drinking lots, eating, and walking around! He's actually scratching around in the dirt and eating bugs as I type this; he was dogging the other hens for mealwoms! (usually he is a gentleman and tibits, now he's just stealing the food!) The past two days or so, he wasn't even walking around or going out into the yard when I let them range.

His tail is up a bit more too. Maybe it's just this godawful heat and humidity....I know if their poop is green it can mean they are starving, and he did lose a bit of weight.

If he's not improving tomorrow, I will definitely run a fecal.

Keep your fingers crossed guys. I love that silly, big black cock of mine (shut up @Chickassan ya perv! lol)

Thanks you guys. You are the best. And I love you lots. :hugs :love

@pitbullmomma
Keep giving him eggs and fish if possible. The green poo has me worried for him. It sounds like he is off his feed with that poo.

I had a hen do that and she would scratch around and peck. She wasn't actually eating anything but just trying to act normal.

Mine didn't make it but mine also came from a bad background so likely had other issues.

I wonder if with the heat he wasn't getting enough fluids. Not on purpose but didn't think he needed a lot. Then got sluggish and slowed his gut down. Didn't feel well so stopped eating.... it's a viscous circle. Once he got some food in him and then lots of water it cleared his system--literally.

I had a good laugh over this so I'll share...
Talked to a friend who does appliance repair. Asked what do I want and not want in kitchen appliances. That sort of thing. I was trying to explain how the kitchen is set up and to make it easier have them the address to just look it up. So I explain that the wall oven doesn't work, is in a dumb location and is really small so the plan is to do a single unit range. I'm getting the "un huh" and "that makes sense" then suddenly "Oh God!"
I laughed and said "Found the bathroom huh."
