I’m sorry Cappy :hugs you know you are loved very much here !
I’m usually just here and in the emergency section, with the occasional greeting to new comers. Plus I do BYC on my phone so I don’t get the big screen effect.
Yeah, i BYC on my phone as well. Thanks, i love you guys too!

My kids were in bed by 8 up at 7. It worked for me.
By eight pm I was :thlol

UGH, tonight was horrible. The Milk Drinker must want to remain an only child. He refused to be put down in his crib. I started trying to put him to sleep too early (at 8:15). The extra time probably just wound him up. He eventually fell asleep for the first time around 9:30 like last night. Except...... he would wake and pop right back up any time I put him down. :he Another 6 tries and 1 hr and 15 min later, I gave up and let him sleep in our bed. So much for "plans". Grr... Tonight, he earned the common nickname I use for him... Stinker.

However, I can't be too mad at him. Mom-mom and Grampy took him to the lake today and he got a bit sunburnt on his forearms and face. I think that is why he kept waking so easily when I went to put him down in the crib.

When we get our second bedroom remodeled, we are getting him a twin sized bed and he won't be allowed in our bed any longer. I'll just lay in the twin sized bed until he falls asleep.

@Redhead Rae , it’ll be way easier once daylight savings time is over!
I sure hope so, he didn't start getting settling in until it was pretty dark (9pm or so). Unfortunately, we don't have blackout curtains.

FNF,
I went digging in my kindle and the pic of Bitty next to Cinders must be on my desktop.
That thing isn't even set up anymore.
:he

Brahmas are super sweet, eat a lot, don't lay like regular layers and are totally worth having just cause.
I love the pencilling on the Dark Brahma hens!

Did you plant the black walnuts?

I watched them rip a walnut orchard out here---when I say rip I mean rip! They dug down what looked like 10 to 20 feet!
no
a tree was left when my great grandparents logged the land. the squirrels were allowed to planted them over my parents generation. Now I am dealing with a million nuts:he

The squirrels eating the walnuts is the one thing I do enjoy about the trees. I have little red squirrels and the little buggers are smart! They put the walnuts in knot holes and crooks and wait. They get rained on and sun baked and rained on some more then the squirrels come around and check the husk. When it's just right they can peel the husk off on one fell swoop and get the walnut out. Then they store the nut someplace dry (under my bathtub) and wait again till it's easy to crack that part open too.

there was a hole in the threshold of the front door I never use. I didn't see it until a bunch of walnuts were piled up there. I caught a chipmunk. He could get in the hole but the walnuts were too big :lau.. I put a cotton ball soaked in peppermint oil in the hole so I didn't trap any in there when I fix it... not that I mind if they die, but dying of dehydration is a slow death.

:: heavy sigh ::

Sometimes I hate neighbors.

To the East of me they are having chemicals sprayed up into the trees.
I get it that if they have bugs they may want them handled. This is a preventative insecticide being sprayed. It's not a "holy crap we have tree bugs" thing.

Way to let the neighbors know who keep bees or have pets in the drift zone.
:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant

I went out and asked questions when I saw drift coming across my yard.
:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant

I will be having a chat this evening with them.

So much for my chemical free yard.
