Good morning all! :frow

I was canoeing all day, and then went to the super-cheesy annual Columbus Day fest in Seaside last night, so was absent for a spell, and  !!! A lot of stuff going on!

So, I'm gonna attempt an Apryl-style post here...

@rjohns39 : Sorry to hear about your GS, but stop freaking out!!! He will not get sepsis. They removed the source of the infection, and likely put him on a good, strong broad spectrum antibiotic until his C&S results come back Then he will be on a specific anitibiotic. So no sepsis!!! I bet he is doing much better already! :hugs

@Redhead Rae: :woot :ya Congratulations on the upcoming, newest little MD!!! So exciting!! Take care of yourself and don't overdo it. So happy for you!:wee

@staceyj and @Anansi : Huge congrats on your new shiny badges! Well-earned, my friends!

@FlyingNunFarm : Keeping Sugar in my thoughts. I hope she is OK. She has the best possible chance to pull through with you as her mom and caretaker. Poor baby! At the very least, she knows she is loved, is comfortable, is dry and warm, and is getting nutrition. You are doing all you can. :hugs :fl :hugs

Love you guys! :love
What fun!
Have fun now because soon you’ll be working!
When do you start?

3rd meal down. She seems warm enough. The laundry room is part of the house so it's a good temperature. The rolled up towel is to keep her propped up more then anything. She doesn't want to open either eye. Oddly her bad eye is first to open.

This is her good eye. It looks a little swollen and maybe bruised to me. I can't get a good look in it. She certainly doesn't want me messing with her too much.
Right now I'm trying to get sustenance in her. A little at a time is fine with me. Soupy kaytee baby bird food with nutri drench is the menu.
Nunny, she looks a little beat up to me. Some booboos on her comb too.
She might be in shock.
Were her nostrils clear when you found her?
How does her breathing sound?

November 21st. I'm still subbing sporadically before then, but yeah, I'm gonna enjoy the remainder of my free time while I can. I'll tell ya though, I am SO READY to get back to work full-time. Last night I couldn't sleep cuz I was fantasizing about how I want to set my office up, lol!

Well those hineybees are back! I'm just glad there are still plenty of flowers for the hummingbird stragglers. Fella probably won't have bees come next year since he harvested much too soon and obviously too much! Really any would have been too much, colony isn't even a full year in. They are cleaning me out in the sugar water department for certain.:caf
That explains a lot. It makes me mad when people don't leave their bees enough honey to live through the winter or expect them to survive on sugar water. Bees make honey for a reason, they need it. They will die if you take it all, and they will not be well if you give them a crappy substitute.

Poor girl has always been so low in the pecking order. The bottom is my guess. I would agree she is in shock. I’m worried about neurological issues.
She was eating then I started to video. She will shake her head a bit then the “ticking” motion starts. Once she’s calmed down again it’s no where near as bad. The flock very well could have pecked her in the head. I don’t see any wounds and her breathing seems fine. Her nares are clear. No discharge from eyes or ears. She eats then I can hear gurgling from her. Her crop is about ping pong ball sized now. She must have been having a harder time eating then I thought. She’s unbelievably thin.
