From Hurricane Irma. Key West FL "gypsy chickens" being evacuated by locals. Even though they are considered a nuisance locals wanted to save as many as they could.
I think someone found out the photo was of cockerels going to the processor, way before the hurricane

As promised, pics of food and water set-up.

The water system is virtually drown proof, since it's too shallow for a regular size chicken to get the nose under water. They would also have to get the cup completely full, which I've never seen Lizbeth, Gurtrude or Chad accomplish.

That makes me feel better b/c I'm looking at both pictures and I'm thinking Damn, I'm blind. I don't see ANYTHING in either picture (besides the adults)..
are the babies the things that look kinda like yellow leaves on the ground in the top pictures?
The babies have a lot of white, its really hard to see them. I will be taking better pictures if i can get them.

I'm refusing to like this. I'm gonna pretend with Henny! "Look at all those rescues."

I've wanted to switch over to a nipple system so it's cleaner. Maybe I'll look for a just a few if the cup style ones for hospital use.
They all do appear to be males. :(

I wanna pretend that they were being saved from the hurricane anyway. :p

I use that for every animal, cured a really bad pink eye in goats. Good stuff.
She could have gotten mud in her eye for all I know. It was a little stuck today but it may be dry. I figure it won't hurt. Try it in both eyes. Why not?

Man my chickens are taterholes! Waited until it got pretty much dark and started raining heavily before they went to bed. Miss Smarty here had to lock up and do the headcount and goodnights in a flippin downpour. I think they do these things just to remind me exactly where my place is.:gig
Times like this when they stand out in a downpour make me question
"Madder then a wet hen."
Mine never seem particularly angry. I wonder if through the years the meaning changed. Really it's madder as in crazy.

Probably so, the crazy definition of mad sure fits my group just pefectly. I on the other hand was the angry mad. The rain is cold today and they wern't doing anything constructive at all! Not eating or drinking just buk bukkin in the rain watching me get soaked waiting on them.:barnie
