I am not trashing the veterinary profession at all but I have had trouble building rapport with vets here. I miss my “country vet practice” that I had in Virginia.
Things have changed on the business end of veterinary medicine since the field has gone to daytime vets/ nighttime and weekend regional emergency vets.

IMHO, Pets are like human kids. They don’t get sick or injured mon-fri 9-6.
They save that stuff for the weekend.

I’m struggling to hold on for just a few more weeks with the practice I’m in.

I don’t feel at all cared about as a client or customer or pet parent or whatever the term is nowadays.

I also feel like they smirk when I ask intelligent questions or disagree in any way.

I’m currently researching.
That's what the new place is, a country vet. (Amish country) It's just so taterin far away. I started going there because it's a relative of a friend. That vet herself is top in her field. The zoo calls her when they have trouble. But she's a vet cause she loves it, not for the money. And she wouldn't work there if the other vets were not good too.
I was sold when I called about getting a dental on my chihuahua. I asked about bringing my unruly (vet affraid) cattle dog for her yearly. They knew how far away I was and at no charge kept her for the day so I could go shopping and whatnot. When we got there I told them please call if shes making them nuts. The girl just smiled and said "Don't worry. She'll be just fine." It may be far but they are great.

Ok. Time for the car story.
Car is 27 month old.
40,300 miles.
A year ago I took it to the dealership because it was randomly just not starting.

It happened 3 times in a week but the dealership couldn’t get it to replicate.
So they sent me home.
But it didn’t happen for a while.

It started happening again.
Three times in the past two weeks.
DH said maybe your leaving a light on. Or your lights on.

No. I am not.

Saturday it happened when DH was in the car too.
You KNOW he didn’t leave something on.

I called and made an appointment this morning at 7:30 for 10:15 am.

Arrived promptly.
Didn’t take my car back til 11:45.

Told me the battery was fine. Tested it twice in fact.
And even if it WAS dead, it wasn’t covered under the original warranty or the extended warranty we bought.

“Batteries have a shelf life”

So I asked why my practically new car keeps doing this random, I don’t feel like going anywhere routine?

The service guy said
“Who knows.”

I told him this was frustrating because I came to the dealership instead of my regular *Honda certified mechanic
Because
1. I bought the car from you guys

2. Being a Honda dealership and full service center, I assumed you knew all about Honda’s and how to fix them.

He shrugged.

By now it was 1:10 pm.

So I asked where the next closest Honda dealership was, that has a service center, and isn’t owned by the same name as the one on this building?
He shrugged.
I guess he couldn’t tell me since after all I do live in the Carolinas where almost all the car dealerships are owned by either of two retired race car drivers.

“Never mind, I’ll look it up when I get home.
Can you get my car for me so I can leave?”

He called for them to bring my car.

It didn’t come.
It didn’t come.

Finally a mechanic came trotting up from the service center to the line of 10 service manager desks.

“Hey! We can’t get that CRV started. What do you want me to do?”

What a bunch of taterin taterheads.

Got my new battery. Finally.

SMH!!!!

What a tatered up day! I am sorry Stacey.
My 2013 Honda Civic has issues too. Random warning lights etc. Had it towed in on a Saturday (I know a guy ;)). While I am talking to the service desk.......I see a tech head out with a code reader........guess what? Yup he reset the code of course the answer was "there aren't any warning messages showing up."
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: Is all they do.
:smack:smack:smack:smack:smack Is what I wanted to do.

I buy new batteries from Walmart. Of course none of the cars have a maintenance agreement
