There was a story out this way that showed a person out at a corner asking for $$ & then they go and get in a new suv. It's like that's their job. It's so strange. I totally get that people *need* help, but it's hard to tell who really needs help and who's taking advantage of the kindness of others. This time of year we get all of the storefront sales AND an odd increase in panhandlers.
Blah blah blah stranded
Blah blah blah will work for whatevers
Etc etc etc.
Mostly standing within 50 yards of 10 places with now hiring signs.
Over half have a dog or cat with them.
I know I sound harsh BUT I see the same ones week after week after week.
Then there's the brave ones that come up on you while you're putting things in your trunk.
They scare the bajesus out of me.
First with the startle then with not knowing if I am about to go missing.
The football team for our local school sells these cards for $10 where you can get $ off of things at a few places. I bought them for several years and this year I told them no. I've never once used it. I got a $10 card for dominos for a save $ on your order thing. Never once used it. Bought one of those SaveAround coupon books from the fundraiser my daughter's dance team had & the only thing I used was a coupon for Enterprise for our rental car. I'm pretty sure I could have found the same coupon online for free.
