Good grief! Sounds miserable!I had my tonsils out at 21. Not fun at all. I may have told this story but I’ll reminisce anyway.
I woke up and couldn’t swallow. No pain. No fever. But a Cheerio wouldn’t go down. So I look in my throat with a flash light and was scared. Went to the Dr. and when the nurse asked what I was in for I said the alien in my throat. She laughed but when she looked she actually backed up.
Gave me a round of steroids and they went down. Steroids cleared my system and I couldn’t swallow again. They said let’s take em out.
When I went for surgery consult I asked if my adenoids were big too. Dr. chuckled and said my tonsils were so big he couldn’t even see my adenoids.
In for surgery I go. Still no pain or fever. Took over 4 hrs to get them out. They were over 4x the size they should have been. So big they touched in the middle then went down my throat. They sent them off on show and tell. Nothing was wrong with them. They decided to have a growth spurt.
That’s how I found out I shouldn’t have liguid Tylenol 4. The stuff with codeine in. Hit my stomach and came right back. Not good on freshly cauterized throat tissue.
I miss my adenoids though. I’ve had more trouble with my sinuses sines those have gone. I can do a neat party trick of coughing food out my nose though. The lettuce with salad dressing on was not one I’d like to repeat.
Sick babies and kids are no fun, except they usually feel bad enough not to be annoying.

Great now we have a nut with a gun in the hood.
