15 little fuzz butts!

Good afternoon, cloudy and drizzly out there. Made the kids a tarp roof so they can graze and not get their precious butts drizzled on.
Still needs improvement, but I can't be playing with a tarp around any chickens instant freakout ya'll know.
Tried yesterday after I put the littles in the coop because I knew it was supposed to rain and I swear the other ones made a special trip just to freak out over the tarp.
I planned on having the run done by now, not much grass in there but dirt and bugs out the yang.
I don't have it done because the post office's time machine is obviously broken and they have my plastic fence.:gig

I am with you on that.
This didn't happen overnight. It won't go away overnight.

I sure don't want him resenting efforts to eat better.

Now ....... The weird part.
Out of curiosity I did a glucose test on myself. (Seriously I have felt like carp for years)
My reading was also above 400. I thought "no way can it be that high".
I went and got a second meter and retested with it. Yup same number.
:hmm Looks like we are in this together.
Diabetes DOES run in my family so I really am not shocked, just a little scared and sad about it.

Wow! That is crazy!!! I cannot believe that, but I believe you. I can only imagine the range of emotions you must feel. :hugs:hugs

OMGoodness!!
They are super cute and fluffy!

How many more in the incubator??

:pop:pop

There are 2 eggs still in the bator that I think are quitters but since they weren't due till today I thought I'd give them a chance.

Then there are 2 more incubators going. So 36 ish more eggs.

As much as it has been a shock I think we are both at the "well this is how it is" point.
I talked with my son a bit this morning about the dietary changes we have to make. He said he is onboard to improve his diet too.
So the whole house is getting a diet upgrade.

OH MY!! You are going to be up to your armpits in cute fuzzy babies!

:woot

One thing that can help is baking your own bread and not buying baked goods from the store.

I have the kitchenaid flour grinder for making flour and bake three loaves of sandwich bread with my Recipe. It is a combination of home made flour and organic all purpose flour from costco. The sweetener is either honey(local) ore molasses-- 1\3 cup for three loaves

I also bake my own sourdough bread.

Baked goods in the stores are universally carp! and have bad things in them for you-- not only HFCs
I have never heard of making your own flour. Please tell me more.

Ok, post office says out for delivery now. Yesterday it said it was arriving late.
I'm not getting my hopes up based on the information given thus far.
I'm starting to think the post office is the matrix or an alternate dimension between the double packages and this plastic fence time warp.:caf

It will be easier to do it as a family. I am glad your son is on board. My 13 yo is so picky, he takes after me. I wouldn’t eat a salad until I was 27. Now at 43, I will eat many things. I am
growing up. Haha!
