This weekend was a blur. I volunteered to help out at the dance booth during our little town's street fair. It was nice, but VERY long days.
My older one got to dance, but the little one only got through 2 songs before she came back to the booth b/c she was feeling sick. It was just wayyy too hot. And then it kept raining on us. If anyone ever wondered.. that trick about putting pool noodles in the corners of your canopy to keep water from pooling does work.
Loki's still broody. I was hoping she'd self break, but it's not happening. It's going to be super hot this week again, but I have to break her in the cage. We leave Sunday for TN so I have to have it done before we go.
ETA:
I can't remember if I said anything here, but my tiny human has been having problems since her school trip to Niagara Falls. She had a problem w/ feeling fuzzy after going on a 3d zombie game ride that shook her around a bit. She said her body felt numb and like her brain was telling her body to do stuff, but it didn't respond quickly and moved in slow motion. It happened several other times on her trip and has continued now that she's home. I took her to a pediatrician b/c it keeps happening and he said it sounded like anxiety and panic attacks and sent us to see a counselor. She saw the counselor on Friday and the counselor said it sounds neurological & asked if we'd had any scans done. I emailed her neurologist Friday night to see what they want to do. So now we wait to see what to do next.

I am really hoping that she will be ok. :fl

:smack To the doctor that said it was anxiety/panic attacks. Seriously Doc what the tater gave that idea?

He did the office neurological exam (touch my finger, touch your nose, walk, etc) and that was fine (b/c she wasn't have a problem at that moment!!!) and b/c she had been freaking out after it happened. Even googling the symptoms of anxiety/ panic disorder it kinda sounded like that could be it, but it also could be neurological, or heart related, or ear crystals. They anxiety symptoms are likely just a byproduct of what is actually happening b/c I'd get anxiety if that happened to me.

Got a msg last night that the other guy lost 2 of his Deathlayers. That's 5 of 12 now. I put a call in to them this morning but didn't get an answer. I left a msg but if that's not returned I found a second phone number to try.
Such a sad senseless loss of life.

My broody problem has continued as well. I have 3! All under the age of one so no sitting for these ladies. I can chase them off and they stay off then at night they decide it's a good idea again. I even blocked off the bucket...

She'll sit on a piece of wood. Fine with her!

Hopefully since the other guy had losses too they' refund you your $$ or replace the chicks. So disappointing & sad.
Gah! Those broodies don't know when to quit. This week is supposed to be hot and rainy & I'm worried about my broodie. I put a fan in the windows to move around the air, but I'd rather she went outside, but I gues 95 degrees is 95 degrees.

So sad to hear about your chicks. I wonder if this breed needs to be vaccinated? On the Greenfire site they talk about having had high losses to their birds newly imported to this continent. Are they still extra susceptible to our local germs? They looked so good!

Hi Bob! Squirrel Bob is getting demanding and entitled lol! Did two trips this morning had a lot of stuff, first trip was birds' food and shells his food was in the second trip.
Well I brought Stacey back with me first trip and Bob was standing in my way chattering his butt off. I had to shoo him a little, looked like he was going to hop at Stacey.
I fed him shortly after, but jeeze manners Bob.:D

If you don't mix bucket girl with Pat at least once i'll be sad.:caf

I called their toll free number this morning and left a msg. The outgoing msg specifically says they are a small farm please be patient. If I don’t hear from them tonight I’m going to email.

I didn’t lose any more and neither has he but it’s heart stopping to check on them. I just keep expecting the worst. They imported the silver deathlayers in 2016. I would hope if they were still having problems they wouldn’t be selling them, let alone for the list price of $99.
I’m really hoping I get to talk to them and they will be able to ship replacements with my Swedish Flower order. At the same time I’m worried about those too. Makes me wonder if something is going on or it’s too hot to ship...

I can’t believe bucket broody hasn’t given up now that she doesn’t have her bucket! The 3 of them kill me. 2 in a nest together on no eggs and the third pissed off brooding a board. They know I’m trying to stop them too. I shoo them out and they stay out and act normal till I leave. Then sneak back in.

Clayton is being a royal taterhead too! I don’t think he likes my coop shoes. (Purple paw print sloggers) But he is also fiercely protective of screaming chicks and screeching broodies. I pick up bucket broody, who sounds like a small child, “No! No! Nooo!” And Clayton hops up on the water bucket and postures at me. While I’m kneeling in sand, gravel, poo mixture looking for teenagers under the pallets he prances around making annoyed noises. He’s gone after me a few times. Good thing he’s little or he’d get the boot in the tail feathers.

Not sure Pat gets any from bucket girl. She is Silvia btw. My earring eater. She tries to eat them that is. Locking backs she can’t remove but that doesn’t stop her from grabbing them and shaking her head like a gator with a kill.
He does mate the little girls which scared me half to death until I saw how smart they are. He dances and when they submit they stand between his legs! He’s so big he doesn’t notice and can’t reach their heads to grab comb. :lau

Soooooo those dogs. :barnie

I was at the kitchen sink and saw them overly focussed on something on the ground.
Oh course I had to check.

They are taking turns poking an American bumble bee with their noses!
 NO NO NO!!!

I think it will live. :fl

I assisted it to the human side of the yard.
Bad dogs
