We end up with a heavy snow just after the lilacs bloom every year it seems. It is always disappointing. At least with bamboo there aren't big blooms being lost.

Well, and I really need to thin it anyway.

I wonder......can you use the canes as supports in the garden? A woven fence? I am hoping they prove useful.

For all those with rain, I feel ya, but I'm not complaining. I'll take our year long mild weather over the rest of the country's any day. I don't have to worry about flooding in my immediate area, but there are a lot of rivers at flood stage. We've had maybe 2 days this year where it didn't rain at all. There's even a town that is now an island, but at least we're not freezing our butt cheeks together.

I will have to find a way to bottle sunshine so I can send you all some from Honduras next week.

CHICKASSAN I give the same advice to anyone going to a shopping mall, or in any crowd. The pick pockets are usually pairs. One will bump you to distract you, and the other will snatch whatever he wanted from you. Too bad there aren't any pocket or purse alarms that will go off if strangers touch them.

You can use them for nice beanpoles. Tie the tops of 3 or 4 together, stand it up like a teepee and then wind some twine around the outside.
