Today is prep for the swap day. Happily, it is sunny.

So, I had eggs that were supposed to start hatching tomorrow... Guess what they are doing today...

I had to run and get one of my frankenbators set up. I was planning on doing that this evening. All 11 eggs are alive and kicking. They are all New hampshire or NH/ Cochin crosses.

I have been outside, but I hate it because the wind is so blustery! I did get some things done, but I still need to unload feed and get ready for the swap. Wish I had a helper.

I can see a lot of less than great bugs to invade like spiders, or wasps!

Seriously they are the best bug if I just have to get bugs especially around here.
Kind of freaky they keep sacrificing themselves in the coffee pot so today is a k-cup day.
Guess I found another reason that machine is needed lol!

Oh and I did a dumb.
I bought a flock block and it didn't even cross my mind until I sat it out that it is the very first one seen by anybody out there.
I might as well have put a bear in the coop.
The thing is covered in seeds, you'd think that would just scream "chill im edible" but nope.

I wish I had pictures.....all my Hamburg hens had 2" spurs.

It is super weird!! This is one of my Bantam Cochins!! I am still in a tad bit of what the H! Lol but I guess alot of Female birds get them.. but definitely a first for me.


On another note! How are all of yall!!???! I know it's been awhile, but I was working and managing everything here with the house, kids, homestead and business. I was all over the place!
But I miss yall, alot!!! Hope all is well with everyone!
