Official Squatch Watchers

For the quality/size, no you can't beat the price. Humidity is one of the things that doesn't have to be spot on. Temperature on the other hand.... is essential! I personally don't like getting my Brinsea dirty with hatching because they are so hard to clean (too many nooks and crannies and the chick dander gets all over the inside of the lid, you can tell in my EX pics below that I used it for hatching). So I use my Frankenbators for hatching. At the end of incubation, the chicks can stand a swing of a couple of degrees. Early on, they really can't take it. They are the best incubator out there until you get into cabinet incubators. I'm not quite ready for a cabinet yet. I think I would get myself into some real trouble if I got one of those. LOL

For a place to put the probe where you don't block your humidity control dial, there is a hole on the upper right hand side of the lid.

It is where the humidity pump drip goes on the EX model.

I’m hoping the probe fits in that slot for where the humidity tube would go.

I still have the wonky bator that I may fire up before hatch. Then they can dry off in there. I’m afraid to let them actually go into lockdown in it since that’s when everything went wrong last time.

I was hoping you'd keep some they're really cool looking birds and Pinky is photogenic as a mofo.
You've kind of got me curious about making show derps too lol! :D
I went back and forth... I couldn't beat the price. Then I couldn't even get another incubator. They are sold out on Amazon and buying from Brinsea directly added even more to the price. I'm using a small thermometer- hygrometer inside. Its in one of the egg trays so 2 less eggs. Cause 54 isn't enough. LOL I have a reptile hygrometer on order. It has a probe that I'm hoping I can fit through the lid.

Who knows. I love the showgirls. There are 2 in that picture...Pinky and Brain. 😏 Brain I'm pretty sure will stay no matter what. The coloring on it is just stunning. It has vulture hocks which isn't show standard but I think are f'ing awesome looking. I'm hoping its a boy and girl then I can breed them together. Get crazy babies!

With all the hatching I've been doing I'm ready for derps. Right now I think I'll do one more hatch after this one. I don't want to be stuck with too many chicks I don't plan on keeping for myself. But I've had losses and of course they have been all girls. Pat needs some bigger ladies. I'd love to get my hands on some Dark Brahmas but can't find any.

I'm 6'1" with a 6'4" reach from middle finger to middle finger when I have my arms outstretched. But I take your point. Is your bator a GQF?
no. it's a brinsea ova .... 380. Sorry old memory. It's a cabinet that can handle 380 chicken eggs.

I used to raise Dark Brahmas, really nice birds. Of course they eat like pigs!

The last place I saw with nice ones was Meyers if you can catch them in stock or if you don't mind ordering a ton in advance.
Yeah I think you are derp ready too, you've been thoroughly shell shocked so nothing is going to bother you too much at this point and Pat would dig some big french booty.

Murray McMurrays is my favorite hatchery.

What do you guys think of our meat bird tractor in the making?

Tried Meyers last year and that was part of my order that didn't hatch. Then they didn't have them till Sept or something.

Looked at McMurray about a week or two ago when someone else was ordering and no females left for the year. 😳
