Official Squatch Watchers

Good morning Henny!
Once I get the fuzz butt a buddy hatched my day will get considerably brighter and quieter...hopefully.
Seriously it has been peeps o' clock since 2am.
And SB is rotten, he passed spoiled ages ago.:p

Good morning Bob. Good job Todd!
Have an awesome day.the :frow

Good morning Sue. Have an awesome day and hug Todd.:frow

Good morning Chicky! Have a fantastic day! Squirrel Bob is perhaps a tad spoiled. :gig

He's a legend around here.
He's known as "that big ole fat squirrel" and the neighbors wonder if somebody has been feeding him or has the squirrel population naturally evolved into majestic chunks.:lau
He's definitely a spoiled boy

Hello everyone. Hope you all are doing well.
Chicks did well overnight outside last night.
First night out.
Anyone ever notice have chickens tend to segregate by breed or color? I find it interesting.
I've noticed this before and a lot of times would count it to being hatched and kept as chicks at different times but these hatched and have been kept together since they where eggs and they still separate.

Mine always have self segregated too. I have rarely raised a single color in a batch and they still segregate.

Yes mine do that too.
I incubate when I have broodies and try to keep at least 2 of the same color with each broody
I have also heard of some hens that will only take chicks of a certain color

Interesting. I wonder if a scientific study has been done on this.

My parents raised St Bernards when I was a kid. There's splash coats (mainly white) and mantle coats colors. They also tended to stay with the same colors.

Chickens are racist, hens very much so.
Roosters have no qualms about tasting the lady rainbow at all it seems.
I think they're like most males, exotic is just fine lol! :)

Well I took my noise machine out of the incubator.
I couldn't hang, kid sounds like a car alarm...a sad, freaked out car alarm.
