Good morning! Looking like it is going to be a beautiful sunny Monday which is great because iv'e got a ton of derp proofing to do in the yard before these littles are truly set free.
It won't be long, im waiting for everybody to be too fat to squeeze out of the fence and we are at maybe 60% now.
Iv'e got some over achievers and a couple little farts that are taking their time, it always seems to be like that though.
People are killing me though, alot of them are just so lazy!
I asked around before I ordered these girls to see if anyone wanted to split the order with me and got a bunch of "nooo im going to buy started pullets" talk.
Fine, no skin off my back but now that they're creeping up on 8 weeks all nice and poofy those same people are "how much'ing" me to death.
They're too much, that is how much they are.
Im not splitting the order 8 weeks in, i'd gladly start birds for people sure but iv'e kind of got to be aware im doing it.
Jeeze, sorry to vent but the nerve just gets me sometimes.


Im hoping he stays sweet Henny in the back of my mind there is that fear of a teenage Jerry that loves his mama a little too much.
He's already a passionate boy, luckily it is looking like he's going to be pretty small like his father.

I would be disinclined to sell them any too. They were not interested 8-10 weeks ago so what's to say they will be interested 8-10 weeks from now. Pretty dang nervy.

I really hope Jerry behaves long term. He does have a good solid flock to help teach him so :fl.


Duckies are happy this morning. Clean pool, big red water dish put in cause yellow bucket was a bit deep and the nutty lady left.
I got 5 duck eggs this morning and one is a WHOPPER!

Whopper, duck egg size I have been getting and a large chicken egg for comparison.

Incubator says 2 days left.... and I have a pip.
I gave 4 eggs out of the incubator yesterday to a turkey I couldn't break. Hopefully she manages to hatch at least 1 and quits sitting and stealing/breaking chicken eggs. Hers rotted because of broken chicken eggs a month ago. She aquired a few chicken eggs that are gone now. Not sure what is going on, she is a little thing not a behemoth. This is her last chance before I sell her with a disclaimer.
 
Im beyond disinclined way,way beyond.
They've already bonded into a group, and they've been accepted into the flock.
There is no way im taking any babies away from Negan and Hobo im not crazy.
I think Jerry will be O.K , he really seems to be an intelligent little dude and that helps a ton with how they turn out.
Youch on that duck egg....guess we know why they waddle now.;)

People always want something cheap, usually your time and effort.
The eggs I took from my LF cochins hens when I sold the flock keep on hatching, one or two a day. About half hatched so far. The bator I locked down yesterday has three hatched this morning. One polish, one Serama and one bantam cochin.
