The duck house only takes about 10 minutes to scoop it all up and spread new bedding. Not bad at all really. It isn't stinky or gross since I stay up on it. I noticed yesterday that they are bedding down in one section and that area was a little more poopy than I want it to be.
It takes longer to clean the chicken coops.....likely because they have to come in and boss me around.

Chickens do like to be bossy and I'm sure they think they're helping!! Our duck used to be messy, but then again they were outside

Thanks I actually have kid sized stuff already Although that hoe would come in pretty handy.
My coop is made from whole pallets and furring strips. There is a bit of wainscoting cause I got it on clearance. I’ll have to take more pix but here are a couple. I dont know how to type between the pictures in order to explain them. I really wish Id taken pictures during the process.

YES! But, I don’t know how. I’m a very anxious person
I’m terrified of making mistakes. I prefer knitting and crocheting to sewing. If I make a mistake I can fix it easily with those. But, with sewing, you cant exactly add the fabric back on once you messed up your cuts, for example. Thats how I feel about this project too.

Measure twice, cut once. I just made a poop tray for mine. It doesn't need to be removable but I will take some pictures. Maybe you could have cat litter boxes on a shelf?

Kitty litter trays is a great idea that @CapricornFarm had.
I was thinking that maybe trying it to see if it will work with you before going all in. I was even picturing those boot trays you can buy for cheap to see if the idea will work for your setup.

Mine are outside....but sleep and lay eggs in their house.


Their little ramp on the right in the pic below.

It is 5'x8' and a walk in style. They are good little quackers and put themselves to bed at night.

I have the rakes only and use them every day. One for scooping the dog poops.....which are quite large here.....you he other for fishing leaves out of the pool. I think mine are about 8 years old now.
I have pea gravel in my dog run and that rake lets the pea gravel stay in the kennel for the most part.

@Fishychix Your coop is cute! I like it.....not sure how to expand easily BUT I think the litter trays under the roost sounds like it could work well. They would be easier to hook and pull forward. A poop board might cut down their willingness to use the whole space......or they might do like mine did and leave eggs in the far back corners under it.
