I hope they learn from it. For real he was not even close to hitting the goals for that sub assembly, was messing with his phone numerous times a day, eating on the line, had open top drinks on the line all after I politely informed him it was all needing corrected. Not to mention the off task visiting with other staff.

Today I will have to handle all the questions from the rest of the team.
I was a union steward for decades.
Had to give a verbal warning, then a written, then a one day suspension, then a three day and then fired.... within a year.... unless caught stealing or sexual abuse.
Most people straightened up by the first suspension.
Some people I wished could be fired right off the bat.

Luckily yesterday's gone guy was through a temp agency. The one on company pay will be harder to be rid of. Seriously he keeps watching videos instead of building product among other shortcomings.

Good morning folks :frow

Henny, it's never fun when you have to cut one loose, but you do what you have to. I've had to fire entire companies in my last job and never a pleasant experience. The worst was a firm 50% owned by the UK government. Yup, my CEO got a call from the white house.

Good morning everyone 😊 have a wonderful day

I think all that sleep is telling me I am to old to work as hard as I am.

I am considering putting my name in the hat for the documentation and trainer position. I do not have the computer skills but I can learn that.

I do have the product knowledge as well as having written procedures at this and other companies and have been THE trainer at this company and others.... Just need that computer experience.

No more dirty nasty hands that I can never get clean.
I don't know if where you live has it but my library system has a database called LinkedIn learning. It's provided by the state. It has a bunch of tutorials and courses over many different topics. Or they may have something similar that can help.

Thanks! I will look into it.

Truth be told that place really needs me on the floor. Quality control has not been happening properly and units have shipped with catastrophic defects. I have been given back 2 of my lines to be the QC person on due to to many units getting shipped with defects the CUSTOMERS have found.

I will likely just stay on the floor.

How did that guy not get fired within the first week?! I cant stand it when people do that stuff. Good luck with the company guy. I wonder if instituting a no phones in the floor policy would work 🤔

Just kidding :gig You would have a full on riot on your hands probably.
Good morning folks :frow

Unions still have their place of course, but with some folks, you wonder if it’s worth having a union. It took us a couple of years to get rid of a terrible employee that only hung on through union appeals and threats of discrimination. He would often just simply not show up among other stuff. There are plenty more than just him sadly.
And of course there are those who post things online that shouldn't be posted and now ... 🤷🏻‍♀️ A new gray area.

There are/were issues. I did notify the super within that first week. Well....that super ended up fired. I talked to the new super....well he avoids those conversations. He ended up out for 2 weeks. I talked to the owner. He was in town instead of traveling so did some observing from a distance and rectified the situation.
