prayer warriors (following Jesus Christ, everyone welcome)

Sorry I have not got back to you guys.
Upshot of this is that the home gave notice on our lad - 4-6 weeks. With a clause that if he kicks off again it would be just 48 hrs.
We got news that he had kicked off and they didn't tell us till the following morning. DH went and lifted him and brought him home even though they tried to stop DH taking him home. We got him here. NO care package till 4-6 weeks ? Funny that isn't it - same amount of time the Social services are paying the home for none care!!!!! When we get no help! Not even day care services.
It is sooo hard and I have cried everyday this week but today managed to finally sing praise to God all though I did not feel much like praising!
Nurse came tonight and Behavior specialist has been here or on the phone everyday so at least they have been supportive.

Thank you all for the prayer and support - A deal of you know that DH has heart issues two heart attacks and stents in also he has a cage in his spine holding his head on - The Vertebra in the spine are collapsing I have an immune deficiency issue which they think is MS which affects my hands and leg and my eye sight and balance. We both use walking aids. DH has had to ditch some of his pain meds as he can;t take them and care for Dan. We are so upset this is why Dan was put into the home in the first place. Now we are left litteraly "holding the baby!" I am sooo upset and disappointed. This is supposed to be a Christian run home? Nothing was hidden from them when they agreed to take Dan on. - This was supposed to be his home. Dan will never spend another night there. EVER!!!!

So please can we now pray for his Day care to be put back for him so he gets his routine and we get a break. Also that we get someone in to help with care while he is here and as well that - long term we get a bungalow for him in the community asap with 24/7 care package!!!! FOR LIFE!!!! So no one can take it away and no one can put him out. That is in HIS NAME!!!!

Please pray that these things come to pass real fast because we are ill and cannot keep up 24/7 care - that was done by an entire team of care staff in the home but just us chickens here! and no funding and no breaks day and night. IT is not sustainable!!!!

Wow. That's just horrible. Praying for you all.

"crutch"

I was told once that Christianity is a crutch.

What should be my response?

Which Bible verses apply?

Christ is no crutch for me. He is my life support system, and wheelchair. I don't just lean on Him and His word, I depend on Him totally. At least I try. I know I fail at times. It takes a much stronger man to rely on Christ than it does for someone to just use a "crutch". If someone doesn't believe that they know nothing about picking up their cross and following Him.

Love the highlighting of Romans!!!

"crutch"

I was told once that Christianity is a crutch.

I've heard that. Yes. Christianity is a crutch. A crutch is an assistive device. That is a device that enables you to do something that you could otherwise not do. For instance, I need glasses. They are an assistive device. Without my glasses, I could not see to drive safely. I could not see to read. Without my glasses, I would be pretty incapacitated. But, in the case of Christianity, it is an assistive device that makes the difference between function and total non function. Like a power wheel chair for a person who is otherwise not able to move at all. Christianity is the reliance on Jesus Christ to bridge the gap between us and God. God's standard is perfection, or sinlessness. I am not capable of that. Jesus paid the sacrifice price demanded by a perfect God to cover my sins. He is my crutch, the only way I have the mobility to approach God. I do physical therapy for a living. I work with folks and assistive devices all the time. Usually, I work with folks who are happy for the mobility that the assistive device allows them. But once in a while, I run across the individual who does not want the social stigma associated with the use of an assistive device. They would rather be a cripple, hobbling around, not able to walk any distance, not even able to get outside their homes, because they don't want any one to see them using a cane or a walker. "I don't want them to look at me like I'm a cripple." No matter how I try to tell them that they will be able to do far more with that cane or walker, and no matter if I point out to them that their limp is far more noticeable than their gait pattern would be if they used a cane, they refuse the assistive device. It doesn't matter that their hobbling gait pattern is causing further joint deterioration. It doesn't matter that they fall down if they refuse to use the assistive device. Pride gets in the way of accepting that "crutch". I'll take Jesus, thank you very much.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Do you have a church family who can step in and help you? Will pray.

That is one of the hardest things We do have a church but we live in a rural area and a number of folk who are in the church also work at the "christian care home that put our disabled boy out!" SO we have to keep both separate as it is difficult for those who are care givers in the church.
We are trying hard to take the Christian pathway and not put it into the church arena - it is hard

praying for you and your family now.

Before I get sidetracked....

I have a prayer request for a family member; she's coming home today and needs strength and love and God to protect her from temptation. She's had a long hard road and also needs forgiveness and Jesus to completely overwhelm her and keep her sober minded, so to speak.

Please pray for my sister. Thank you. :)

Praying.

When I have had a long day, I long for my spouse to hold me, and tell me it will work out. That he will take care of it. I long for a "crutch". Something (or someone) to hold me up when I am weak.
Several of you know that I don't have that crutch. What I do have is God. But there is a difference! I don't rely on Him when I am weak. I rely on Him when I am strong! I just deleted a lot. I have a bad habit of over explaining, and confusing people. :D
God is our father. We are His children. No one calls a mother a crutch when she feeds her 3-month-old. Even as she literally acts as a crutch as she teaches her child to walk.
So, when someone calls Christianity a crutch, perhaps you can explain that parents are not crutches. Or, just remind them that they are guilty of the same. Because you don't learn without a teacher. Which brings around another way of explaining. Which I try to do too much!

Does Truth Exist? post #1686
Does God exist?
Are miracles possible?
Do we have an accurate copy of the Bible?
Is the Bible true?
Who is Jesus?
So What?

Does God exist?

The easy answer is in the Bible but an atheist won't accept that answer, first I will give you the verse:

Romans 1 NASB
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

The atheist requires that we not use the Bible because they do not think the Bible is true.

Three proofs for the existence of God,
a. Cosmological Argument, the universe is so complicated and delicately balanced that nature can't create it or for that matter create itself.

b. Teleological Argument, the created beings are so complicated that they could not have been created by nature or create itself. We can look at the language of DNA, a four letter alphabet that proves intelligence behind the creation of a hen, how does an egg hatched in an incubator know how to be a mother, never having seen a mother.

c. Moral Argument, why does "good" exist and how does a "right" thing to do point to a Creator. This is the hardest for me to use in a discussion with an atheist, it gets very personal and I can get easily angered at their sin. This was the method used in the movie "God's not Dead" #1, you can't be mad at something that does not exist. Another would be, you would not know something was evil unless there was something "good" to compare it to (Mother Teresa compared to Hitler)

Last, everything that exists must have a cause except an uncaused first cause

If you want more information on any of these I can reread the book and amplify areas that you want more information or a better explanation.

Pausing until tomorrow giving readers a chance to ask questions.

Just a quick question. Does anyone here listen to Hank Hannagraph (spelling) on the Bible answer man broadcast? If you don't I'd highly suggest it. As with any man I'm sure you will hear things that you won't agree with but he does say to test everything that he says in the light of scripture and hold fast to that which is good. You can listen for free at equip.org

I agree 100% with ocap, it is hard to explain this to an atheist who doesn't want to take any way of understanding something. What do you think happens when you die? How did a big bang know to create something so complicated? I do believe in some morphing but not the morphing of a human being! Please take what Christians have to say to help you understand God. If your an atheist 100% and don't care about what we have to say then why did you even click on this page If you know it's about something you don't believe our care about? We should be glad that some of you did because we can explain to you what to believe and you can either take it or leave it. If you still don't like what we say than Don't keep reading and arguing about it. Think very carefully about this, and it's not bad to read a bible for answers even if you still don't believe.
