Rob, what is your opinion on possibly a JG roo and a couple light Brahma hens for occasional freezer birds? (Occasional meaning, whenever they decide to go broody) They're teens now, just planning ahead--everyone loves the eggs from the CCL cross and the pair of BRs, but from the beginning, I've wanted a dual-purpose flock.

Honestly the jg and beams are slow growing in my opinion. They do get big but it takes 4-5 months don't lay till 6 months. The Ross are ready at 10-14 weeks . Start laying at 3-4 months
