Ok,
I am going to post pictures of the eggs(chicks) that hatched out of the "male hatcher"
These are in no particular order. Whoever I could grab, I did.
They all should have rubber bands on the leg to indicate that they were from that group.
I started with the green food dye, then it started wearing off on some chicks, so I got nervous and tried the vetwrap and they all managed to rip that off in no time flat.
So I then decided to try this method and so far so good.

So...for kicks and giggles...here were my predictions for your eggs. They are in the order you listed them on your measurement sheets:

The grey, and larger black Cochin were predicted to be males.
The smallest one is predicted to be female.

That prediction looks correct from what I can see (just comparing their combs). It's hard to see their legs with those cute little feathers!

I need to update everything. It's been a crazy couple of weeks with all 3 kids schedules.
Quick update before I have to wake everyone up for school.
1. We unfortunately had to euthanize "Stevie Wonder" (the blind cripple chick) of course it was the most humane thing to do for this poor chick. Instead of the usual method of either breaking the neck, or whatever, my daughter and I decided to consult my cousin who is a vet. We ended up doing the "small animal euthanasia" method. I had my worrys that it would not go well, however if done correctly(and we did it correctly) its sooo much easier on all of us emotionally! It was much more peaceful than I imagined. No struggling on the chicks part. The chick just became sleepy.
2. One of the Cochin chicks died. This is the first time I have had a chick actually die on its own. I knew it was a bit weak, however I found it dead under the MHP.
3. I really need the chicks to cooperate when I try to take pictures!! They are spastic little guys!!
4. There are 2 chicks that I have no idea what they are.
They have frizzle feathers, but are not polish, not Cochin.
It was my understanding that I had 3 variety/breeds

OE (to my knowledge there were no frizzles in this group)
Polish (rooster was frizzle)
LF Cochin (again no frizzle gene)

I will post pics of the chicks as soon as I can
