Can someone explain how I got 7 eggs out of 5 ducks? Or have my 2 drakes started laying? I did bust a lady sitting on 4 with an avocardo seed so dunno if shes had them stashed from last week

Yoda, how many genetic lines do you have? One or two of these little guys might be an aberration, but three sounds like something genetic. I'm no expert, but this something I worry about in my flock. I'm on third generation of Pekin runners desended from the same drake and duck. I need to rearrange my flock in the spring, as I have some unrelated hens for my main drake and I need to get another drake for my current hatching hens. Those little ones sure are cute though.

Just the one line from 11 siblings. However I introduced 3 hens into the flock from another flock. I worry too but they in line breed right?

Happened to me too several times: The ducks buried their eggs deep in the thick layer of straw, yhen laid two decoy eggs on top which i gladly collected, missing the hidden ones.
