Happy Wednesday to Everybody!

I was out cold for the last three days with either a stomach bug or due to my stupidity:
Sunday i was very busy here in the house as well as outside. In the evening i decided to bake bread. As always you need to taste the - yeast-based - doe, so i ate a bit. For dinner i got lazy, i had some left-over spaghetti which it threw into a pot, fried them with a tad of butter and added some apple-sauce. Dinner's ready…
And because i know that apple-sauce will cause my stomach to produce a lot of acid, so i popped an acid-blocker pill. That was the nail to the coffin.
Spent the last two days shuttling between my bed and the bathroom, having terrible cramps in my belly, feeling weak and in pain. Nothing seemed to help.
I assume the acid-blocker successfully prevented my stomach from producing enough acid to kill the yeast, which happily started to digest the sugar and the starch in my dinner, producing tons of gas.

So sorry to hear that you have been under the weather. Happy Wednesday to you also. My niece had her gall bladder out several years ago and suffers from symptoms such as yours. I hope that you feel better soon. Our Ducks depend on us no matter how we feel.

Basically, the only things i did was caring for the ducks. Cleaning their waterers, feeding them treats and providing them supper. I didn't even collected the eggs for the last three days… I bet it is a mess in there, Violeta and Buffzilla both have abandoned their nests and i need to clean out everything.

I had a boot put on my foot yesterday and was supposed to wear it 24/7 because the foot doctor thinks I have a stress fracture on the side of my ankle. I put a plastic bag on it to take care of the ducks yesterday after I got home and it was a real pain. I took it off and did duck chores this morning without and will do it that way from now on. It was much easier. I can't get an MRI until next Wednesday and then another week after that to get the results so they think I am leaving it on until then and even sleeping with it on! I told them I have 20 ducks to take care of and if it comes between my foot falling off and my ducks getting cared for, my foot is going out the window! It's hard when something goes wrong and we still have out babies to tend to. I hope that you feel better soon.

Same here! - I was taking care of my ducks with a triple fracture in my left foot joint in 2019. You can always regrow a new foot, but ducks are irreplaceable! 😜
Did the same thing like you, putting a trash-bag over the boot and waling outside into the mud.

Sorry to hear this Frank! You need to take better care of yourself!

Are you still going to try to incubate the remaining eggs from the nests? How are the babies? Silly Violetta, at least now she's not trying to take you apart piece by piece?

I lost two finger on my left hand today, i didn't noticed that Violeta was back on her nest and just reached in. That was just a warning from her, she didn't spat fire and didn't scratch out my eyes… 🤣
I don't have much hope for these eggs, they have been abandoned for at least a day, but who knows.
And yes, from the 26 eggs i collected from Buffzillas nest, 15 look a little bit promising when i candled them, i even saw a pulse in one egg. All in different stages of development and all in the CCI which has just reached 36° and rising. So far it has kept the temperature around 37.7° ±1° which should be fine. I doubt a duck could do better.
Humidity is at 85% right now - i have no clue where it should be, but i thing 75% would be best?
Not much hope for these eggs, the have been abandoned for two days while i was unable to do more than the basics, water and food. But if there's a single duckling coming out i'd be happy.
