I lost two finger on my left hand today, i didn't noticed that Violeta was back on her nest and just reached in. That was just a warning from her, she didn't spat fire and didn't scratch out my eyes… 🤣
I don't have much hope for these eggs, they have been abandoned for at least a day, but who knows.
And yes, from the 26 eggs i collected from Buffzillas nest, 15 look a little bit promising when i candled them, i even saw a pulse in one egg. All in different stages of development and all in the CCI which has just reached 36° and rising. So far it has kept the temperature around 37.7° ±1° which should be fine. I doubt a duck could do better.
Humidity is at 85% right now - i have no clue where it should be, but i thing 75% would be best?
Not much hope for these eggs, the have been abandoned for two days while i was unable to do more than the basics, water and food. But if there's a single duckling coming out i'd be happy.
You'd be surprised on how resilient eggs are. They may still hatch, just a bit later than if they'd been incubated for the whole time.

And here is a short video of Buffzilla with her ducklings outside:
The little ones are so independent! They run around the whole flock, catching flies by the dozens. Has anybody an idea what color will be the brown duckling when mature? I have never seen a brown-duckling! It is really brown with a yellow bib…
Awwwww! :love

Yes, they can be! I found one of mine wandering along the road out front, away from his siblings!

And the brown one may turn out to be a brown or dark buff, with a lovely white chest.

That's what i am betting on. - Years ago @Kiki hatched the »Balutas«, a couple of ducklings from balut-eggs.
And as said, i don't have high eggspectations, so it can only be a positive surprise.

That sounds like a really interesting color combination! Can't wait to see it growing up. For now i am trying to trap the next Trash-Panda. Came out late yesterday (~10pm) and saw a big fat male quickly running away. Trap is set with peanut butter as bait…

I love the name trash panda so much more than bin chicken.
