That is how my little Mallard Call ducks are growing, straight out. Maybe it did not have angel wing either then.
Get her/him a sock! - It takes only a few nights to fix it. El Chapo Duckman was fixed after one uncomfortable night, Harry Duckhini needed two. Both are without a sock this night, Harry was hiding from me, expecting to be put back into his sock but i showed the sock to him and threw it away in front of his eyes, telling him that he won't need it anymore. He really brightened up!

Mine might be slipped wing as I did not notice it having it when I picked it out. It happened in the crate with the other Call ducks while we were bringing them home. It is not in pain however and I just keep clipping the feathers that stick straight out on the one side so they don't get hung up anywhere. It's over a year old now.
Once the feather roots(??) have set, there is no way back, it cannot be corrected and you are doing the right thing by cutting these feathers off. I wish i could do something like that for Ralphie Dux, had no time to mow around the house and this poor guy always catches the tall grass whit his wing...
when chasing the ducks...
maybe that's a good thing actually?
The ducks are relieved, he is heavy...
