i have finally separated my 3 chicken hens from my duck flock after one of them murdered the baby crow that was visiting because he thought my black ducks were his flock. ugh. now the neighborhood crows who left their baby ( crownager) back behind my duck area are mourning and so am I. baby crow ( i named him Snickers) was so cute.
it’s a relief though to have the chickens separate because i was stressed over worrying about them shredding up another duck prolapse. ( buttercup died that way)
it’s working out splendidly - i added 2 feet of fencing (made it higher) so they can’t fly over to get to the ducks.
Ducks are super happy now

but i worked 3 years to get neighborhood crows to trust me, and now they are mia.
wait- did i already tell this story?
