Is this a wildflower? I have one just like that in my wildflower patch. The color is so vibrant!
Ehh, it could be I guess, but I've not seen it in the wild, at least not here. It's Saliva Purpurea, commonly known as Purple Salvia, or Purple Sage. It is fantastic at attracting pollinators, and the color is just delightful! ;) It's native to Mexico with a cold hardiness to zones 9b, 10 and 11 (sometimes 9a, pending on the zone chart, they changed in 2012).

Feel free to drop a picture of your flowers. :)

Hmm, now that I looked at it again, I think it is something different. It had a bloom that was more open this morning.

Not purple sage. It's raining right now but I will send a purple sage picture tomorrow.
I kind of looks like a Morning Glory bloom. Is it a bush or a vine? There are wild morning glory that grow in a vine here, but I've not actually seen a bush.
Does it look anything like this when the blooms open?

If so it is likely Ipomoea Carnea, AKA Bush Morning Glory. If it is, just an fyi, not to scare you, but the seeds in large quantiles are considered poisonous, and have a compound similar to LSD. So if the ducks look all quack'adelic, that might be why. ;)

Also, @Magnolia Ducks if that is indeed what you have, it is a rather low producer of seeds. The vine we have here though is considered a noxious weed, and can spread like fire. Not that we care here, it is an amazing flower to look at when the sun rises.

Oh no! It looks kind of like your picture. I just planted a “wildflower” seed mix in an old lawn trailer. That is the only one I have seen so far though!
