Agreed. They walk the streets here too and tend to blend in with the street color. Every now and then you hear of an accident from someone going 50+mph and not seeing the bird till it's 20' in front of them.

No but we had freezing ran Saturday and our creek flooded out to our walkway, with 10F weather so if he's still alive I'm surprised.

Our whole yard was just water pretty much. It froze all up yesterday... so now it's just ice.

We have some Sand hill cranes here. Hard to find, though. Never encountered one, sadly.

There's a good amount of them here. I wouldn't say common but seen a few times monthly.

Ya, I'd like to see one. Herons are a good sight for me though lol. Heron's aren't common here so I feel lucky some swing by every now and then.

Dino loves the chicks. Normally I use something with solid sides so he had to stand over it to see them. Now he just gets to lay down and enjoy them.

My muscovies prefer being inside. I don't let Olly out, he stays in a shed size pen, his brother hangs with him while the mallard hangs with the chickens, sometimes peeking into the fence with Olly and Echo. One of my drake muscovies has been attempting to mate me... He grabs my leg and... Attempts to, I push him away and then lock him out of the coop while I grab the eggs, then he goes to mate Bella... I don't like this behavior.
