I've lost so many. The big ducks are out now. Sue is with the littles. Out later. I really don't know where she came from . Fawn and white runner and pekin. How did this make a black duck?

It's because of how white works in ducks Pekin likely passed on extended black genes.

Very interesting. I have several ducks that share this lineage. They are all fawn and white, gray bibbe d or white. Except little Sue.

Rainbow over home after dropping big kids off at bus stop. Then in town and we found this beautiful rest stop loaded with pelicans! At first there was only 4, but by the time we left there was over a dozen.

When you say gray bibbed, do you mean blue bibbed? Gray bibbed would mean they look like mallards but also have a bib. Which would be cool, because that would mean they had recessive bibs, which is a fairly rare gene.
