Good afternoon Donkeydew, Hope you're having a great day. Yes I can them and had hoped to put up a bunch this year. I wanted to can 12 quarts whole, 52 pints diced, 100 half pints of sauce.

Good afternoon Lisa, hope you're having a great day. My girls ran from them, but then again they had a month to grow (4" worms was not uncommon). Ironically, most of them were tobacco horn worms rather than tomato horn worms. My banana pepper plant is now grown back and has peppers growing (it was the first to lose all its leaves. I've recovered a couple of cherry tomato plants. But the rest are just dead sticks.

They are the same worm. Just called different things in different places. I only give them to large ducks after a chocking incident. My guys fight over them and pull them apart. Its really gross.

Hope your garden takes off. I had it down pat in VA. I just haven't been able to get the same setup here just yet. And results have been crazy. The last year we were in VA, I canned tomatoes every Sunday. And didn't have to buy any tinned tomatoes for the rest of the year.

I make juice with the pieces with my Aunts chinois that I had inherited. Homemade juice is the best. My husband makes salsa and I make homemade tomato ketchup.

The horn worms are manageable for me. With only 6 tomato plants each year I am able to keep them picked off. But the aphids are my nemesis! Oh, and the dang squash bugs! Grrrr! And I love squash and zucchini.

You need ants to farm the aphids or Seven dust.

My beardie looooves those. Show them to her and they're gone pretty quickly! Even big ones. Gone in a gulp.

She says you are all free to send yours to her and she'll take care of them for you, lol.
