Good Morning!! That was hilarious hillbilly did any one go ice skating. When the pool freezes here our gander is designated ice breaker. Unless it’s too thick.

Nobody ventured on to the ice, they all know from the frozen kiddie pool that »solid water« means cold feet. I was surprised how thick the ice was after just a few nights of frost it was over 3cm (>1") thick. I bet even your Gander wouldn't be able to break through that.

No snow just cold? What on earth for?

I bet for ice-fishing! (I have not peeked into the next posts!)
Snow insulates the ice from the cold and makes it weaker.
One of my friends found that out the hardcold way…

To make Ice. Lots and lots of ice. Snow insulates the lakes and stops ice from forming. Snow can melt ice too. Snow is bad.

I bit the bullet and ordered a Sportsman. Gonna need the space for the emu eggs. I foresee getting myself in trouble with the egg capacity, lol

On the emu egg front, no more yet. That's not too surprising though because it can take up to five days between eggs even when they're laying regularly, and new layers are often irregular to start.

How big is an Emu egg in comparison with a chicken egg?

Good morning folks Good evening Wunda & Kiwi

I would love to make jam too but never made jam before. I have a large box (estimate 5kg left) I got from mountains in December but worried they'll start going bad if I don't do something. I love apricot thats preserved in syrup but again no idea how to do it. To google I go!

@Muscovy Wunda I really like this site for canning recipes and instructions. I've linked preserves and this one is all about canning them.
