There we go ...

You know, I took a closer look when she was standing there and on another surface and it seemed to me as though she were standing on her heels. If i ran on my heels I would also not make it far and would keel over in the end. Is this a known situation in young ducks? Will the B-complex that we're adding help?

We're still of the opinion that the little duck was most of all very malnourished ... It's just a question of what can still be remedied?

All I can say is def worth trying shes come so far already.

Vitamin D is presumably part of the vitamin concentrate we are adding to her water but yes, I guess I can try with fish. But is canned fish OK - I mean because of the salt and oil? I do have some salmon in the deep freeze...
Don't worry about the salt and the oil. You are not going to feed her the stuff exclusively from now on, are you? - I feed my ducks bread even though it is oh so bad for them. I have been scolded for doing that here, but my answer always is: It is the dose that makes the poison!
Just don't give her the whole can at once! 😜

I know what you mean. This is Dainty's first time as a mom and she's doing a good job so far, but it's up to her to keep her brood safe and well tended to.
Disaster had already struck here! - After being away from the house for about an hour, i got back into the duck-house to tidy up the kinder-garden and collect today's eggs and found a dead duckling in one of the nests on the ground level. 😢
I am not sure which of the ducklings that is, but i assume it is duckling #2.
The first duckling has yellow wingtips, the second one - confirmed on the videos - was entirely black except for the bib and belly and the third one has a blueish tint and also yellow wing-tips.
I can only assume that it fell off the first level sometime during the night and was chased around in the house and ended up in a nest at the far side of the house…

Awww, I'm sorry. I lost one today too, no idea where though. The yellow one was no longer with the group.

As predicted though, the lone duckling from the other nest has joined this group. Other Momma is still sitting, but if only one egg hatched so far I wonder if any more will... I took the remaining eggs from the first nest, tossed out some obviously bad ones, and put six in the incubator. They may or may not hatch, but at least I'm giving them a chance.

That is the reason why i try not to get too attached to ducklings. They are tough cookies, but sometimes they won't make it.

Yes, that is why i bought the CCI, which is still sitting empty on my kitchen's counter top. So far Buffzilla is not willing to abandon any of the eggs and some eggs have found their way into Violetas nest, so there will be a chance to test the incubator.
And if not, i always wanted to figure out what duck is laying these fancy blue eggs…

Still no good internet connection here in Big Chimney, received a text-message that my issue is part of a larger outage and that the team is working as fast as possible to get it fixed. This afternoon I drove to the nearest shopping center to upload a couple of videos and was surprised to find every guest-network being protected with a password.
Then i tried the mobile network and was flattened: 350MiB downstream and 250MiB upstream! I have uploaded 5GiB of new video to my YT channel, almost four hours of video in about 15 minutes…
